I was thinking that delver will definitely not be a tier 1 deck but i think it could be a tier 1.5 in about the same place as the scapeshift deck was before khans

yep: Diving into delver is my take on it, basically tc out 4 snappy's in. however, it still is closer to tier 1.25. Scapeshift was never as good as before khans and after TC and DTT ban

Let me enlighten everyone; Delver was a deck before khans of tarkir. Tier 2. Instead of cruise you run snappy. The end. IMO, UWR Delver is much much better than UR however that is personal preference.

I agree. Delver was a deck before Treasure Cruise and Dig. So was Scapeshift.

Tldr: You'll live.

I feel like anyone saying Delver isn't a deck because of DTT and TV banned didn't really understand or know the modern format. Delver has been around since the beginning and it's just as lethal now. Granted they don't have the delve for draw 3, but modern mana fixing is so good you can just play UWR and it's easily tier 1.5 and much better than scapeshift.

I'd just like to point out to all those endorsing UWR delver that it just flops to RG tron, which is predicted and set to make a huge surge in the meta because of both the TC ban and Pod ban. This isn't just a theory, but coming from personal experience.

However, yes, UR delver was a thing before, it was fine, but treasure cruise made it into a very popular strategy. It'll still probably be pretty popular, and is by no means dead, but it's just not as good as it once was.

UR delver was ok Tier2 before and treasure cruise brought it up to tier 1. wijtout treasure cruise it will go back to tier 2 and not be as good.

Scapeshift was always better than delver though...

What does Modern mana fixing being good have to do with the TV and DTT banning? Not sure why playing UWR Delver is better than UR Delver simply because you have good mana fixing in Modern. Whichever Delver you play, you just got your draw engines banned...mana fix all you want but the gravy train just got derailed.

I also don't believe Snapcaster Mage is going to reach Liliana range because of the TC and DTT banning. It may have gotten there on its own over time because it is a.staple and will never see a serious reprint, but isn't banning 2 powerful blue cards going to decrease the demand for blue cards since all the Spikes are just going to switch to another Tier 1 deck instead now? I think we have some time yet before we she'll out $70 for Snapcasters.

I'm on grixis right now. both as a delver tempo deck and as a midrange control/combo deck.

Tasigur, the Golden Fang, Gurmag Angler and Pack Rat are all really solid cards and they can be backed up by hand distruption, Mutavault, spot removal and solid PW's(if you want to go Midrange). Also they all cost way less then goyf's while giving you more or less the same bonus of a big, inexpencive dude(and in the rat's case, lots of dudes).

Gurmag Angler isn't really modern competitive...

Why would it not be? When going up to a midrange shell it's a fine creature that will normally cost you 2 to cast and it will be comming down on turn 3 most of the time. And it will be able to kill Goyf and just about any other creature out there. The reason I like it is that it costs only Bx and not BBx like Tombstalker so it's an easy splash in any U/R shell while still dodging most removal in the game with the exeption of Path.
