Ok so for those of you who dont know, ponza is a R/G land destruction deck that ramps up to threats like Stormbreath Dragon and Inferno Titan. It is a very fun and powerful deck but ive noticed that almost every list runs 3-4 Bonfire of the Damned, my question is why? In playtesting it is almost always a dead card or a card that deals 2-3 damage to everything killing your mana dorks in the process. Why is it viewed as such a good card in the deck? Is it really needed?

For use after you don't need your dorks anymore? But I would almost only ever use that at 2

Bonfire targets a player and their creatures. It will never hit your creatures unless someone took over you're turn
