Is Garruk, Cursed Huntsman playable in modern? I mean obviously in some sorth of ramp/midrange stuff but does anybody have any idea?

why not a Jund build? with all the early control and overall just high value spell/creature packages I think a jund midrangy kinda deck could be tweaked to have Huntsman be a 2-3 of.

a cmc of 6 makes him unplayable in modern. cards with cmc that high need to have immediate impact on the board state. his first ability doesn't really do that, and 6 mana for 4 power is terrible anyway. only his second ability impacts board state immediately, but 6 mana for a removal spell and drawing a single card is also horribly expensive.

midrange decks in modern already have more efficient threats and removal, and ramp decks have better things to ramp into.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion sees random play in fringe decks, so I don't see why this couldn't be the same. A somewhat controlling deck like Jund might be a good spot for it, but in the current meta, only being able to remove creatures for 6 cmc might not be enough to warrant its inclusion. Try it if you feel so inclined though. I've played Chandra, Awakened Inferno in modern and it's not been bad the few times that I've cast it.

Definitely don't want to flip this with a Dark Confidant in jund, also the problem is until you hit 6 mana you will not cast this, which means it can get discarded or countered very easily, maybe a sultai control deck or midrange deck could use it, but 6 mana is a huge investment

Liliana, Dreadhorde General or Ugin, the Ineffable might be a better walker to compare Garruk, Cursed Huntsman to, and even then, I’m not sure he compares favorably to either. They both protect themselves as well as garruk does, and both take time to really get going, but liliana gives more value and ugin isn’t color locked. Don’t get me wrong, “big daddy” is a house, but he’s one that takes a ton of time to build... but you don’t always have time to build a house like that in modern.

That is a good point. I don't like Liliana, Dreadhorde General because her removal is contraproductive in strategy that's midrange main wincondition and that is beating down in fair way. In general play big Tarmogoyf and protect him for any cost and clock down your opponent. Card draw from killing your own creatures are cool, but you want to take out recources from oponnent on your value creatures. Ugin, the Ineffable is kinda same as big Lili but in way that you will miss card that is under token. Also his passive is meaningless, but color free is nice and removal is quite good (but 4 loyality for 6 is meh).

Garruk, Cursed Huntsman in worst case is 3 for 1 -> You play him, use minus to kill creature (1), draw a card (2) and if he dies do removal or attack that is (3).

And I'm currently testing The Great Henge + Rotting Regisaur as card draw, ramp and big stats mini combo because I'm not really keen to spend big money for Tarmogoyf and Bob.

Unplayable in modern. In modern at 6 mana you are winning. With Garruk you are getting two 2/2s. Why play this when you can play valakut combo?

Because Valakut combo requires a deck built for it while Garruk is a stand alone card that can take over a game.
