I've been constrained by budget in the past but I'm playing in a casual tournament that allows proxies so I was hoping to get some feedback on the new build. Thanks so much! Gideon U/W Control

Here's what I'm playing.

I think the biggest takeaway is that you're currently overloaded on Gideons. You're going to auto mull a ton of hands just because a hand with 2 random gideons isn't keepable vs a lot of the field. It also raises your average converted mana cost a tad.

I'd really recommend going to 4 copies of Spreading Seas. It's floor is literally 1U to draw a card while at its best it wins you games.

Also, since humans are a thing and meddling mage is a giant fuck you, I recommend a split of Verdict, Wrath, and Settle for board wipes.

In my list, I consider the 2nd copy of D Sphere, Blessed Alliance to be flex slots.

Finally, I'm concerned you don't have any copies of stony silence in the side.

The deck is Gideon tribal because I can't afford Celestial Colonnade at the moment and the tournament I usually go to doesn't allow proxies. I tried Faerie Conclave as a wincon but its too weak and mana screws me too often. That being said, the emblem has saved me in a lot of games. Last FNM I had an opponent topdeck Goblin Grenade and I would have been screwed if not for the emblem. Its also served me well against Burn because even if I'm low on life they have to take out my Gideons first.

I'm iffy on Stony Silence just because of my meta, I've run into a lot of decks that run Blood Moon in either the sideboard or the mainboard so I think it might be better just to run a couple copies of Disenchant in the sideboard to deal with that as well as artifacts.

Same with Spreading Seas, my meta is just not that heavy on Tron or 5 Color Humans so it doesn't seem worth it to run a full playset. A two mana cantrip is pretty slow when I can just run Opt. Plus I have an additonal Spreading Seas in the sideboard. But in most of my Round 1 matchups Opt is better.

I think it would be worthwhile to get a Wrath of God for the sideboard. I'll look into that. Thanks for the feedback!
