Deck link : Infinite Mana Ballista

Hey guys!

So i had this idea for an infinite mana combo deck, it goes off well enough on its own, but i have issue protecting the main parts in the current modern meta.

Im in G/U, but could easily splash B or any other color if needed.

What do you guys think? More redoundancy? Green protect instant (like Heroic Intervention ) or more counterspell?

Don't hesitate to upvote the deck if you like the concept!

Hmm... seeing as you are running the colors, you could add in Hardened Scales/Winding Constrictor+ Rite of Passage.

Step 1: get 2 of those out (2 rites, or a rite plus either of the other ones)

Step 2: get ballista to be a 3/3

Step 3: remove a counter, shoot ballista, get 2 counters on it

Step 4: repeat to infinity

Step 5: shoot them for infinite at next upkeep (the damage on ballista prevents you from doing it immediately or ballista will die from a SBA)

As for making it more consistent/protected... Mana Leak gets rid of most killspells, as they are typically done with the extra 1/2 mana on your turn.

My first question is why you went blue in the first place. G/B has more counters shenanigans and gives you access to mike/trike(ballista in this case) as a kill condition. Secondly, you're running umbral mantle and staff of domination but no way to fully utilize these. Finally, whats the trouble?

counterspells? cavern of souls works.

kill spells? city of solitude or hexproof works

@chaosumbreon87 well... blue has access to serum visions and a lot of those draw effects, which are great for combo decks. Green has +1/+1 counter stuff, and has access to some combos. Black is a great option as a third color, giving access to Fatal Push, Abrupt Decay, and depending on your curve, Dark Confidant
