My coworkers and I have a small tournament we have put together. We created a list of 84 types of possible tribal category and rolled random numbers to pick 2 each. To keep things fair, we can't spend more than $60 on the main 60 card deck and $15 on the sideboard.

Decks must consist of at least 15 cards of type A and 15 of type B. The rest of the deck can consist of any other cards you want included. I had the pleasure of rolling for Bears and Wolves(no werewolves or this would be way easier. lol). HOW DO I MAKE THIS WORK?!?!?!?!?!?!

_(If anyone is interested about the other decks that will be in the tourney Coworker 2: insect and barbarian Coworker 3: cleric and kithkin Coworker 4: Hydra and spike Coworker 5: cephalid and fungus Coworker 6: Sphinx and assassins

_ I NEED TO BEAT THEM for the love of Arlinn

I would go with a red green efficiency build. Here’s just an idea of a list.

Creatures 4x Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma 4x Alpine Grizzly 4x Werebear 4x Ashcoat Bear 4x Immerwolf 4x Lupine Prototype 4x Young Wolf 2x Wolf of Devil's Breach 2x Assembled Alphas

Spells 4x Sarkhan's Unsealing 4x Rhonas's Monument

Land 12x Forest 4x Mountain 4x Game Trail

Sideboard 4x Heaven//Earth 2x Tormod's Crypt 4x Feed the Clan 2x By Force 2x Back to Nature 1x Red Sun's Zenith

It’s a simple strategy, play creatures when you shouldn’t and get triggers off of Sarkhan's Unsealing, Rhonas's Monument and Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma. Play fast and play bombs. The Sideboard is a little shakey and you can probley do better than I could.

This is an awesome concept for a tournament. I really like what M_Malcom suggested, propably would've come up with something similar after some research. I'd add in some copies of Cream of the Crop, as it is a great tool for chaining threats in decks that have creatures with high power.

Elemental Bond may be good in a deck like that too.

I love Chameleon Colossus in any tribal deck that can run it, partly for the pro-Black but also since it'll pick up buffs from many of your opponents' Lords as well (e.g., +2/+2 and Haste from the Lovisa Coldeyes your Barbarian coworker will likely run).

Shared Animosity would take up a huge chunk of your budget, but it may be worth it. Door of Destinies is another solid option along the same lines.

I expect G1 will just be Big Beats from everyone, but winning the removal war (board wipes, especially) may be the key post-board. If so, cards like Heroic Intervention or even Guttural Response may be useful in the sideboard.

Color-specific hate (e.g., Choke and Flashfires) may be useful in the board as well.

Please keep us posted as the list evolves, and on how the tournament goes!

Sorry for the double-post, but I forgot to mention: In case you're not familiar with them, check out Legendxp's excellent Tribal Tech (Every Single Tribe in Magic! Part 1), and MagicalHacker's excellent Lists of Staples (all linked on their page).

xaerusblade: Ba Dum Ts ;D Only if they exercise their right to bear arms. Btw, Skalla Wolf might be an interesting value five-drop.

The first question I had for my archetype..."technically werewolves are wolves, right?"

M_Malcom I love the concept. Fortunately that build is about $30 so I'm trying to figure out where I can put a garruk or arlinn but i have a feeling like that is going to be a completely different win con.
