Is there a fun modern deck to play that has a budget of 20-40 dollars? If so that would be great. I play normally control but I'd like to try and expand and play other things, I was looking at manaless affinity to play, but I dunno.
BloodoftheBloodMoon, Im so sorry! I should have put that I have played modern for a couple of years now I just wanted a fun deck to play! My ideas were either the Dubious Challenge with Progenitus/Flicker Wisp, Manaless Affinity, and/or The zombie hunt deck, maybe swan hunt but that's a big IF. Thank you for offering to help me, maybe you could help me come up with a list for this deck!

Here's the deck ive always wanted to try. Hope you enjoy it! link because tappedout is being weird. Also, zombie hunt is a fun deck, i dont think it stays that way though. i can see it getting boring very fast. as for Dubious Challenge, i'm not sure how you would be able to win with it, because your opponent gets your Progenitus, while you get nothing? cause that's bound to happen. the likelyhood of two progenitus to be in the top 10 is quite low. might be fun to brew around though!

I think the deck TUMTUM was talking about with dubious challenge is the one where the flickerwisp lets you flicker the big creature that your opponent gets to put in play first, so you end up getting it back since youre the owner. It's probably a good idea to play a creature other than progenitor though, preferably one that doesn't have protection from flickerwisp

It's extremely hard to get into modern with 20-40 dollars. especially with control. Really the most expensive thing in modern are the lands, so ideally mono color decks are your best bet. Mono green stompy would be a good starting point. A quick search of the budget modern metagame from mtg goldfish (sorry tappedout) showed that no deck is under 50$ aside from zombie hunt, but thats more of a cheese deck that you bring to fnm a few times for fun. here's the link budget decks on mtg goldfish. I can try brewing an extreme budget list that might be decent. ill get back to you in a bit
