Devotion to Hydras

I'm building this deck, hopefully for competitive play, but I'm a little concerned about the speed. Since I can't play test it yet, I'm asking for thoughts, questions, concerns, criticisms, suggestions, just whatever thoughts anyone has about it. My main concern at the moment is that it may be too slow, but I'd like to see what everyone thinks. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes time to help a brother out!

As I understand it, it can be done. AEther Vial is extremely good in this. You want to keep a very low curve, much lower than Standard devotion had, and just crunch in those mana symbols. Polukranos, World Eater might be your most expensive card. Courser of Kruphix is a must. Probably 8 copies of a 1-drop mana guy. Scavenging Ooze, Experiment One may be good. I always imagine Reverent Hunter could have a role. It'd be a dumb creature, but bigger than Tarmogoyf.

I've only been around since Theros, so I don't know a lot of the older cards.

I would borrow tech from Tooth and Nail. Check out MtG Goldfish's article about the deck here.

Using Voyaging Satyr and Arbor Elf with Utopia Sprawl, Overgrowth, and Fertile Ground, you can get to 7+ mana rather quickly (as fast as turn 3). At that point, you can just smack your opponent with a 6/6 Mistcutter Hydra or Primeval Titan.

You can also reach infinite mana with Staff of Domination, making your Nylea, God of the Hunt or Kessig Wolf Run lethal.
