Looking for Black Competitive Modern Deck

Hi all,Hoping to make a competitive Black Modern deck with a budget of $100 (can be bumped up if needed)Anyone have some good suggestions? Thanks
Edit 1: Any colour is fine, I would prefer black as it is a favourite of mine and I have used it previously

Mono-Black devotion could be a good start. Take out Phyrexian Obliterator and Thoughtseize and the deck is still very good. Basically the idea is to play Gray Merchant of Asphodel and have a bunch of permanents with high devotion to black such as Geralf's Messenger, Phyrexian Arena, Gifted Aetherborn, Vampire Nighthawk, and Gatekeeper of Malakir.
To be competitive however you really do need to spend money.

Nashtagg What form of 8-rack? Most I have found require Liliana of the Veil and thats already 90 for one

Striker345 well its a mtggoldfish one (sorry cannot find the link) But I basically added a few cards. Mainly ensnaring bridge. Give me a bit and I can make a decklist.

You can play 8-rack without Liliana of the Veil and Ensnaring Bridge you just lose the competitive edge the deck has by not playing them but it is still good.
Also, what exactly do you mean by your question to me about what cards are needed, do you mean additional cards to play in devotion or what expensive cards you want.

Oloro_Magic Im liking the look of your devotion idea, I do use some devotion cards like Erebos and Grey Merchant, what deck style would you suggest?

actually 8 rack decks have gotten rid of bridge cause you just die to top decks sometimes. But you can replace liliana of the veil with Necrogen Mists and thoughtseize with Blackmail but keep in mind they aren't nearly as competitve

Devotion can be a more controlling deck with a ton of discard and permanents like Phyrexian Arena to fuel a Gray Merchant for the win-con. Or it can be a more agro list that curves into Gray Merchant. Bob effects like Asylum Visitor and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyxare worth a look in the deck.

If you sub the Liliana of the Veils for something else (one idea I had was Waste Not for value when your opponent discards) the deck is much more reasonable. Also the Bridges while nice, are not part of the grans design. Literally you can buy most of the deck for a few (~$50) bucks if you make a few budget changes (Thoughtseize for Duress, and something else for Liliana of the Veils). It will be a competitive deck, but it won't be as good.

Mtg goldfish's YouTube channel has a ton of budget decks that also show games so you can get a feel for the deck. It could be a good place to start if you've got the time (should keep in mind however the person playing punts a LOT)

outside of zombies, you really won't find competitive decks with that budget under any circumstances. 8-rack is a very good (and expensive) deck focused on discard mechanics.
