Jace or Karn?

Hello I was wondering, I made a post a while back about my new deck I was going to make, but this one is about a deck I already have. I love mono blue tron! And I was wondering should I add Karn, Scion of Urza to the deck or Jace, the Mind Sculptor I feel like karn will be easier to cast. I also feel like jace is the better card though. What do you guys think?

If I were you, I'd get a Jace. If you find yourself unable to cast him game after game (not just in fringe scenarios where you're mana-screwed anyways), it'll be financially easier to switch to Karn. Just my two cents. Good luck!

Karn may make the game last a little longer from experience. It has always seemed that the game ends quickly once Jace is out. Also, exactly what landofMordor said. If you were willing to spend the money, maybe get both and then sideboard one when it's lagging in the game.

If your using a control build I'd go with jace mid range and aggro I'd go karn

Thank you all for tips I have been doing some testing and thinking and I am going to test with jace and then try karn if he proves to hard to cast! Thank you all for your help!

I'm truly excited to hear that you are looking into Mono Blue Tron, as it is one of my absolute favorite modern decks to pilot. The deck is gracefully nuanced in its interactions, and surprisingly difficult to effectively pilot. Not to Karn vs Jace...

Karn, Scion of Urza Honestly, Karn is not designed for a true control deck like Mono Blue Tron. While it is a great card, it just doesn't do enough to put the late game screws to your opponent. Karn actually fits better in a Tezzerator or Affinity build, where its artifact generation and card manipulation are most effective.

Jace, the Mind Sculptor Jace is another really great card, but not the most effective planeswalker choice for this deck. It's a better choice than Karn, but still focuses on deck manipulation rather than effectively winning you the game. It is also a terrible card to play when you are behind.

My choice of planeswalker for this strategy is Ugin, the Spirit Dragon as it has a definite impact the turn it is played, acting as a board wipe, or bolt. Also, it's ultimate will effectively win you the game, as will switching off between the plus ability and neg ability to maintain control of your opponent's board state. It's not the meat and potatoes of your deck, but very beneficial when you pull it. Check out my decklist for a good build. I've been very successful with this Mono Blue Tron build, and have spent a lot of time tweaking it to just the right competitive build.
