How to deal with mass discard, removal, + infect

So I've got a "friend" who basically deck techs against everyone and everything as much as possible, but most of his decks I've noticed rely on efficient black removal like Go for the Throat and discard such as Duress (he has 12 removal spells in a lot of his decks along with 8 discard from hand spells + 2 Sever the Bloodlines)
I'm having a hard idea of what deals with this as usually I get duressed before I can even play a land, and lately he's red and white protection to his decks since I tried the whole I just gotta go faster idea with red/white weenies (funnily enough he won't play his $200 red deck anymore since my 10 dollar weenie deck beats 2/3 times lol) Normally I'm not spiteful...but this deck is a pain for everyone I know, the local shop ect. (he literally kill spelled 16 of my creatures upon summon last night while playing eldrazi and removed 8 more from my hand before i could play them)
So, any suggestion on how to stop this anti-fun deck? I have quite a few cards stacked up but a rather small budget beyond that
hexproof yourself Leyline of Sanctity and your creatures Slippery Bogle and go for the quick kill with enchantment pumps on your creatures. selesnya hexproof is a (relatively) inexpensive modern build that is (relatively) competitive and can mess up opponents who have disruption plans in particular.

o.o how have I not seen this card before...It's like a free Witchbane Orb or Orbs of Warding...but u start with it on the battlefield rather than having your opponent discard it for you sounds like it would work good a full set would be $50 about though hmm

The above suggestions are good. However, Boogles quickly dies to sacrifice effects like Liliana of the Veil.
Have you tried making a non-creature heavy control deck? That renders his kill spells useless, and his discard won't do much good either.

The_Raven I've tried playing
2 Turbo fog decks that I have (one stops the game basically, the one linked just dies failing to get off protection) (example:Skullkid Deck)
Aggro red/white weenies, Zada, the Draw master
Outlast Abzan Outlast $3 deck
Tribal Trolls Don't Feed The Trolls
A mana ramp eldrazi deck, reactive red/white (creature thief fling/burn), My budget storm brew Zada, The Storm Maniac!
I am finding that my key cards get removed out of my hand if i'm not playing a creature deck, and creature decks seem to fall flat on their face due to removal and the speed of infect, going wide with my weenies doesn't help because of red/white hate Phyrexian Crusader

The deck in question looks something like this Brad's dick deck, but not exactly like this I feel like I've missed a creature and a card like dark favor or pike is probably a 3 of instead of 4

You could run Loxodon Smiter or Wilt-Leaf Liege. He goes for the discard and boom!, you have a beater. They won't specifically deal with Duress you said he has a few other discard spells as well.

BlackCoffeeMagician has the right of it. He Duress' you for one card? hit him with DreamTwist, Memory Sluice, Merrow Witsniper, Thought Scour, Tome Scour and others like that.
Quest for Ancient Secrets can help recover from excessive discarding.

play an even more anti-fun deck, lantern control, or at least run some Surgical Extractions to get rid of killspells. you could also play delver, and take advantage of the graveyard fill.

you could play hatebear style cards. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Thorn of Amethyst and the like will make his discard much less efficient. Trinisphere is also hilarious.

Ohhhhhhhh Lantern Control would be fun(fun for you that is). Maybe go izzet and start Swerveing everything and dropping some Wild Ricochets
A Turbo Mill is still my fav though just keep some Force Spikes in there to deal with Duress

Just make a deck that's too fast for him. Burn would do great. Stuff like Lightning Bolt and gang. You could also try to play blue so you can out card advantage him. There's a ton of stuff to do to beat that deck. If you're really desperate, try Great Sable Stag and Thrun, the Last Troll - that would piss him off!

I actually play a non-budget mono black infect deck for fun sometimes, i generally lose to burn on a bad draw, land destruction, and tron type decks. 8whack decks destroy it most times, stompy is pretty even, and i guess dredge type decks. or you could just 8 rack him out. mono black infect is just slow version of 8 rack and generally loses to it just cause it's win cons are more expensive.

alternatively a deck with no creatures so that all of his kill spells blank is pretty fun.

my deck started out with a similar question. Ultimately i ended up with a RW build that had 4 leyline of sanctity to protect me as well as Faith's Shield and Dawn charm to protect my creatures. You could also try Privileged Position, though that is kind of expensive. My own removal has a set of Sudden Shock which is what you want against infect which i saw you mentioned. Your other option is to build a knight deck as there are several good ones which are pro red and /or black throw a bunch of those in with some Honor of the Pure or Always watching and you have a nice army there.

I agree with rockleemyhero. I had a guy at my store that kept changing his deck to effectively beat everyone else's. Burn would be good against your problem. Good luck!

I concur, Burn is fantastic against discard, as the top deck usually rocks. Another option would be Abzan aggro, with Wilt-Leaf Liege, Loxodon Smiter, Obstinate Baloth, and Thought-Knot Seer. That could be nuts, plus you can also play discard to take care of his removal.

I tried this deck UR Ensoul Modern (NOT AFFINITY)(i literally threw it together the hour before lol) tonight and while having to draw onto an ensoul since I can't trust having it in my hand being a 4x it's not that hard since i can start with a darksteel citadel in my hand remove my own creatures if things go south I still have a hard time protecting my hand with this deck I've found, If i get a scepter down it stays however, and hurts over and over again, they also are prime discard "bait" so i can keep ensouls potentially

Leyline of Sanctity stops discard pretty hard.
