How Many Mana Dorks for Elves?

Modern Deck Help forum

I currently have a Green/Black Elves list, with 10 mana dorks, + 4 heritage druid and 2 nettle sentinel. Is this too mana heavy? or is that just because I haven't shuffled enough? I've been getting hands that look like 2x heritage 1x visionary 4x lands, and I'm worried that this would show up during Friday Night Magic.

(I am currently working on acquiring fast lands, more palace, and cavern of souls)

The deck in question is: Why are Elves so sELFish?

I don't play the deck, but I have a few friends who do... and the going rate seems to be about 4 dorks + 4 Heritage Druids + 4 Nettle Sentinels. They also run a full playset of CoCo and Chord along with a playset of Devoted Druid (Not counting it as a dork, so 8 including it) because two of them go infinite with Ezuri

All of them. All of the mana dorks.

I like playing 4 Arbor Elf, 4 Llanowar Elves, and 4 Elvish Mystic in my version. That's on top of 4 Heritage Druid and 4 Elvish Archdruid. Being able to play Collected Company or giant Chord of Callings is something you want to do quickly.

I wouldn't play more than 1 Ezuri, Renegade Leader if you're using Chord of Calling. You could also drop a couple of lands. More mana dorks means more explosive hands if you have Heritage Druid and a lord.

I agree with sylvannos. You can never have too many mana dorks.

If only Copper Myr was an elf.... hes so cute xD

I'd recommend a minimum of 8 dorks in addition to the Nettle Sentinel + Heritage Druid package. Your ideal start is a T1 dork.

sylvannos: Why cut ezuri? ezuri has never been a target of chord of calling, getting out a shaman of the pack or a sideboard creature is always better.

@emrakulinsmugglers: You don't need 4 copies of him. 1 is enough, 2 at most.
