Help refining my Black-Blue zombie token deck and sidebar ideas

Modern Deck Help forum

Hello, I am trying to put the finishing touches on a new Black-Blue Zombie Token deck, Space Zombies and create a good sideboard to go with. Currently this deck will win some matches in 6-7 rounds, but I'd like to get that up to 4-5 rounds if possible, My only thought is adding Cabal Coffers but other than that I've come to a mental block. Also I have no idea how, and what should go into my sideboard, any help is appreciated greatly, thank you.

Cabal coffers isn't modern legal.

How competitive are you looking to make it? I'm planning on brewing a UB list together for a stream and you're off to a somewhat similar start.

I'd highly recommend Gravecrawler and Dread Wanderer if your budget allows it. Drop some of the 4 drops in the list since those tend to be a bit too slow for an aggressive tribal deck. That new stitchers supplier 1 drop guy, and Prized amalgam are likely worth a look too

Again the biggest question relates to budget.

After trying for a year and change to make a competitive zombie deck I'd have to say the biggest pitfall for zombies is lack of a solid play on turn 2. Relentless Dead feels like a 3 drop that new Graveyard Marshal seems legit though.

So I actually have 4 Dread Wanderers that I can get into the deck, and albeit, they are not Token cards, but the spell that brings them back to the battlefield would synergize with my Diregraf Colossus' ability which will, if my understanding is correct on my card ruilings. And I do end up topdecking by turn 4 usually. I don't really like Gravecrawler however, but I do have some Relentless Dead cards as well, so maybe a couple of each of those, thanks for the criticism, and if there is any other ideas thank you in advance.

And I am a grown manchild with a decent job so I'm willing to spend some money, for sure though, making my deck competitive is definitely the goal. I wanna win!

I have revised my deck, an given it a better name haha. It's now the Dark Nile Swarm, I added Dark Ritual an Dread Wanderer, while dropping some costly 4 drops an fodder. Haven't tested it yet, but I'll be sure to make another post with some results, hopefully I can at least hit that 5-6 turn smash!

Dark Ritual isn't modern legal. There is no early game ramp in black in modern.

I've built quite a few Zombie decks and find that B/G is the optimal colors. It gives access to permanent removal of enchantments and artifacts (which black lacks) and stuff like Lotleth Troll.

Another card that isn't a zombie but is a powerhouse in zombie decks is Bontu the Glorified.

I thought that Dark Ritual was illegal as well, but I searched wizards of the coast mtg main website and Dark Ritual was not listed on the banned cards list for Modern play, and the list was updated February of this year. I wondered if it was because it had been reprinted in the M25?

It's not banned because it's never been legal in modern.

That makes sense, thanks for clarifying. Damn, maybe coreset 2019 will have an early Mana ramp for black.

Last time black got mana ramp in modern was Deathrite Shaman and that was just banned in legacy.

With Dark Ritual Turn 1 Liliana of the Veil or turn 2 Phyrexian Obliterator on a regular basis would be a bit unfair for a lot of decks.
