First Modern Deck: Fling, Dying Wish and/or Essence Harvest?

I keep going back and forth on what damage/lifegain combo I want in my deck Don't Feed the Trolls. I like Fling because I can activate it in response to removal spells, and with Dying Wish attached to my creature it's usually a one-hit-ko. What I don't like is that Dying Wish is susceptible to Golgari Charm and the like, leaving me with no lifegain capabilities. However, an opponent may want to target my Hardened Scales instead, so it's a toss up. What's really nice about Dying Wish is that it makes my opponent think twice about destroying my creature. Essence Harvest is nice because there is less risk involved, but leaves my creature open for removal and costs one more mana. Suggestions???

...none of the above. They're all bad cards, with a minor exception for Fling and that's only viable with Phyrexian Dreadnought, who isn't modern viable.

If you ever are iffy on what you should add in a deck, add removal.
