Exert and vigilance

what happens If you give a creature with exert vigilance do they cancel out or is this a really op strategy?

since the creature never taps, you can exert as much as you want, since it never needs to untap, the 'downside' of exert has no effect. in short, yes, it is a good idea.

hence why there are no cards with both exert and vigilance

Yes but there are cards that give vigilance to other cards I might just have to make a deck that does that for my next modern deck.

Yeah, I knew what you meant. Just saying that that interaction is exactly why WotC hasnt printed any creatures with an exert ability and vigilance without something else giving one of the abilities

Lol glory-bound Initiate is a 2 mana 4/4 with lifelink then, and don't even bring up glorybringer.
