I would like to ask for your playtesting powers to look into this combo deck and improve it. We might make it work together!

This seems even worse than zombie hunt combo, it probably could never reliably win on t4, especially through interaction, and not to mention ghost quarter and field of ruin. I'm not sure of a way to make it any better other than using rat pack instead of oppostles so that you at least have some hope in the control matchup.

Well, yes and no. I think I actually have more outs than Zombie Hunt, albeit I have more moving parts.

Funkydiscogod except that would be slow AF. The whole point of this is that it can be very fast and win on the spot. If I wanted to win after turn 4 I could make this a Polymorph deck. I would appreciate constructive feedback.

I kind of fail to see it, but how to you get an apostle in the yard to Extirpate it? To me, it seems the only way for this deck to do it is to discard to hand size. Even if you have Surgical Extraction, you will exile all apostles on t1, then play your hideaway land turn 2 and hopefully get the Emmy in the top 4 cards, which will down to luck - about 60% chance. Then turn 3 you play the shores, get the extra blue mana you need and cast emrakul to win?

There are too variables in this one to be a decent consistent combo. you have failure by giving the opponent 3-4 turns without interacting with them and your own combo has a chance to fail if you do not find emrakul. And if you do not draw shores, you will be delayed by a turn in firing off.

I do not think this does anything better than the polymorph combo and it is more dangerous. Also, the deck itself makes it impossible to have a sideboard.

TL;DR: You are sacrificing too much functionality for the "cool" factor.

Boza Funkydiscogod you guys are probably right. I'm indeed banking on specific starting hand setups with either Surgical Extraction, or at least a Darkslick Shores to cast Extirpate if I have one or cast an apostle to lose it in combat. Letting my opponent always go first would allow me to turn one discard an apostle and extract it all at once. But if I put in more interaction the chances of drawing my combo get smaller. I do see all its problems, but maybe there's a way to pull it off. In case there's none, I'll definitely look for a different shell.

Thank you folks for taking the time to read and comment!

The question is - is being a turn faster than Polymorph combo worth it? Is that turn worth having neither sideboard nor interaction; having a chance to fail or having a huge chance to not go off on turn 3?

In order to go off on turn in the described sequence in my previous post, you need 1 extraction (1 in 15 chance) 2 specific lands (1 in 15 chance for both) and at least 1 apostle (1 in 1 chance). Assuming you draw an apostle in on your first turn and have only apostles in your opening hand, you still have only 4 emrakuls in the deck from 13 cards left when you play the turn 2 Shelldock. And if by some some chance you untap on turn 3, you can cast Emrakul and win.

If any of the above fails, you are looking at t4 or later combo which is not very good, especially without any way besides luck to assure your turn 3 win.

TL;DR: Wins before turn 4 are appealing, but check out what you sacrifice to get them.

Boza you are right. What I will go for from here on, is looking to find a good shell to at least preserve the spirit of this deck that is apostle+exile. Otherwise this would be a whole different deck. Back to the drawing board
