Combos and Infinite Combos

Modern Deck Help forum

I've recently have been leaning towards modern rather than commander. I want to make a budget deck (like $20) that includes combos and infinite combos, or turn 4, 3, or 2 wins. So i'm mainly just asking for decklists that are based around infinite combos, combos, or turn 2, 3, or 4 wins. If anybody has any ideas on a combo/combos then i'd really like to know about it, thanks. I'm also needing help with a commander deck i'm building but i'll be posting that on the commander forum.

Scytec I know you're mainly a commander player but you have a few modern decks posted so I thought that I should tag you on this forum.

The problem with combos in Modern is the consistency. They are generally easy to disrupt, and if they're not then they are very slow. That being said my personal favorite would be Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry . Not infinite, but it is incredibly high value. Infect can kill turn 2 and many people consider it more combo than aggro. Other than that I'm afraid were a little outside my wheelhouse again. :p

Most combos in modern aren't gonna work with a $20 budget at least competitively

Grand Architect and Pili-Pala makes infinite mana. It's a fun combo and if you use things like Profane Command then your win condition is also useful to assemble the combo. Use transmute cards like Muddle the Mixture to both assemble the combo or protect it from disruption.

$20 deck is really hard to pull even on standard deck let alone a modern deck.. let say the average cost of card is 0.50cents and 60cards total = it is still $30.

xaerus $40 is the max for me, so do you have any ideas for combos?

I forgot I built a super budget mill combo deck utilizing Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank . It does go infinite. No sideboard though. I built it casually for my cousin but he hasn't purchased it yet either. Would you be interested in it? I think it is around $45, but $10 of that is 4 lands that could probably be replaced.

hmm ihave a turn 2 infinite mana combo. which is relatively cheap. the expensive card is the mana sink.. however, you can change the expensive pieces to find a another way to spend infinite green mana. like duskwatch recruiter emptying you deck and summon all the cheap creatures and giving them haste for a full swing?
