Modern Deck Help forum

This is the Modern-specific advertise-your-deck thread!

Modern format rules

Here are the rules:

  1. You may link one of your decks in each of your posts. Do not list more than one deck per post.
  2. When you post, you must offer feedback on the deck posted immediately before yours (leave the feedback on that deck's page). This feedback needs to be genuine; "Cool deck" replies don't count. Try to be as helpful as possible.
  3. You may not post another deck in this thread again until a week after your previous deck post (by the day, not the exact minute). This is to make sure that other participants have a fair chance of getting some attention.
  4. Do not post unrelated comments in this thread. Leave the deck discussion on the deck pages. Additionally, don't comment just to subscribe to this thread. Use the subscribe button at the bottom of the page.
  5. This thread is stickied and does not expire.

When you share one of your decks, you should offer some information about what you want it to do, what specifically you think you need help with, etc. The more information you give people about your deck, the better the help you're likely to receive.

You're also encouraged to use the deck-large format to make your decks more visible:

[[deck-large:Dominus-Dreamcrusher Edition]]

While you're here, check out these recommendations for other ways to get views on your deck.

If you're feeling up to it, you can also try to write a primer for your deck.

cleriyou Your attacks would get a lot more offensive if you'd use something like a Bow of Nylea. A Creature like Primordial Hydra get's beefy fast as well, it would play nice for you I think. Try creating more decisive combos :)

man thats a cool deck, I would say take the forest our or the windswept heaths. You only run 1 forest so if the second copy is drawn its obsolete. If the forest is drawn first they're both obsolete.

Hey guys! It's HJaycee again! Say, do you guys think you can see if this U/B Zombie Tribal deck is any good for a friend of mine. Her budget is $150 and I have a rough draft of the deck here, but it might be missing something.

August 11, 2017 11:56 a.m.

Hi friends, this deck is a modern control esper that has the "thopter sword combo". It's a personal list, I hope you like it, and please give me some advice. BYE :)

How's it! My name is HJaycee, and I am here to share my take on Boros Stoneblade in Modern. "Modern?" some may inquire with furrowed eyebrows. Yes, I said, and quote, "In Modern". Furthermore, what does a deck like this look like in modern without the card Stoneforge Mystic? The answer is: Steelshaper's Gift. Allow me to elaborate.

The philosophy behind Boros Stoneblade is to begin with early aggression, tempo out my opponent's plans and the close out the game with either a Tharben Inspector or Goblin Guide equipped with a Blade, or ram through the masses with a Grim Lavamancer equipped with a Batterskull.

Advice and/or upvotes are greatly appreciated! Further description inside the deck.

Hey everyone, hope everyone's going well. This deck is meant to be a scavenge based counter deck that works by sacking high powered/low mana creatures, scavenging them onto otherwise unassuming creatures and doubling the counters. This is the first time I'm dabbling with a Golgari deck so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Specifically, if anyone knows's how I could make the deck more consistent and reliable that would be fantastic.

Cheers!

Sorry to double post, but I'm sad to say that my deck wasn't actually Modern Legal. For those of you interested, You'd have to remove the Commander curses, and then double up on other curses (Cruel Reality, and Torment of scarabs having 4 of each of those is best choice) in their place. The deck has been properly shifted to Legacy instead.

Hi there.

September 18, 2017 1:03 a.m.

Well, I've returned with a modern deck, A cobbled together Anti-Infinite Deck that has enough control to make it so that by turn 3/4 you've stopped any infinite using deck cold in their tracks, generally allowing you to win by forced forfeit.

Feel free to suggest cards that break infinite combos. The best suggestions would probably be creatures that are able to hit hard and repeatedly.

This is one of my first decks ive made with "unique" mechanics. Its artifact// and made of only cards which I own, so any suggestions should be very budget. I fell in love with a Pentavus + Prototype Portal combo and used things like Clock of Omens, Manalith and a bunch of draw cards to feed this mana hungry combo token deck.

There are plenty of semi-infinite combos, such as being able to double your land every turn with Clock of Omens + Darksteel Citadel + Prototype Portal but I need help smoothing out the gameplay.

Although the effects are quite powerfull, I don't think it really beats out a cheap Selesnya token deck at the moment. I need help finding (budget) ways to give my artifacts extra abilities like first strike or indestructible.
