Would Angrath's Daughters Being Kidnapped Make an Interesting Story?

Angrath is currently the only heroic (or at least non-villainous) black/red major character in the story, so I would like to see him, again, at some point, but the question is what role he would play in the story.

A user on another forum suggested an idea that I think is a great one: someone abducts Angrath's daughters, and he must chase that person across the multiverse to rescue them, akin to Liam Neeson from Taken, which could be an epic story that spans multiple sets.

What does everyone else think of that idea? Would that be an interesting idea for a story?

I think that could make an interesting story. Perhaps on his home plane his daughters had gotten worried after his disappearance from being on Ixalan for so long they had stricken a deal with a demon or other powerful entity on their native plane and had gotten in over their heads, being taken in by a cult of some sort.

Angrath needing to find out about the cult and going after a powerful demon similar to the level of ones that had made deals with Liliana could be interesting. Also would be very cool to have Angrath have that sort of Liam Neeson story kinda theme to it.

It probably wouldn't spread across multiple sets though and just be in its own block on Angrath's home plane.

There are literally no other red/black characters in MTG right now, so Angrath takes the most villanous and the most virtous awards :)

Daretti is . Mark Rosewater has also claimed the characters of Tibalt and Ob Nixilis are also even though they have only been printed in mono colours. I could agree with Tibalt, but I believe Nixilis to be mono black.

Wrt Angrath I too saw the comments on Blogatog. Mark was asked if we would see Angrath again now that he supposedly has no reason to leave his daughters again. Mark's reply was that there are many ways to motivate characters. Some of the comments went directly to fearing death or other harm would come to his daughters. There was also a comment relating Angrath to Liam Neeson and Taken. Yeah, seems like an interesting and creative way to motivate a character using what you already know he cares about.

Ob Nixilis could have with a passion for causing pain as a sub theme of his character. I'm not disagreeing that he feels mono just that's how I could see being a part of his color identity. Unless we are missing something that he really does care about out there outside himself and his love for death and destruction.

On the main subject the Taken idea would work for Angrath as a theme for a set or two on his home plane. It could if the kidnapper is also a PW it could cross planes as a 2-3 set mini story with Angrath needing to use his skills for war to travel to another plane as a price he has to pay to get his daughter released.

They're minotaurs. I don't think minotaurs do the whole damsel-in-distress thing (pretty sure Angrath said something to the effect of them being quite competent at killing). Even if the possibility is there, though, WotC is probably more than a little sensitive about some of the player base, hence the light touch and irregular occurrence of cards like Trapped in the Tower and Deadlock Trap.

RicketyEng, Pervavita, I agree that Ob Nixilis feels mono-black, to me, but Tibalt is definitely black/red, so I do hope that WotC eventually prints a black/red card of Tibalt, at some point.
