...That was a hell of a cliffhanger...

I love Kiora, but I agree; she came off a little too overbearing in this UR

I had a feeling this would happen. On Nixilis is probably going to release Ulamog and get his spark back through the energy that is released by the hedrons.

Normally I hate Nissa, but damn girl, you a bamf.

It was suspenseful, but I was hoping for more hints on the speculated Kozilek and waste lands.

Battle for Zendikar seems to me in many ways like a slightly better Kamigawa Block. Shoddy cards, great story

I'd agree with you, jackanukealty. I've been impressed with only a few cards from BFZ, those being Ob Nixilis Reignited (best Walker hype), Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger (dat power tho), Blighted Steppe (this in my Bant tokens EDH deck is stupid), and Omnath, Locus of Rage (land EDH hype). The story though? Omgreat.

I agree that Kiora was far too arrogant and aggressive in this story, but I did like how she rebuked Jace when he attempted to contact her mentally; not many beings can resist his telepathic powers.

Some of the story felt rushed, but the battle was epic nevertheless. I could definitely feel the tension building as the heroes attempted to trap Ulamog in the ring of hedrons and Jace noticed that one was not properly aligned.

The appearance of Ob Nixilis at the end was a great cliffhanger, and I shall definitely be eager to see what happens, next week.

DemonDragonJ That was Kiora's redeeming moment in this story for me. I had to read it about three times to fully grasp what had happened. I'm starting to see a third color in Kiora, I'm just not sure what it would be.

JamesAzimuthPHD, I would say that her could be demonstrating either black or red traits, since arrogance is a black trait and impulsiveness is definitely a red trait.

It was definitely one of those two, I just can't decide which one I like better for her :P

So I just read this weeks UR and caught up on last weeks and I have to say...HOLY HELL!

I imagined the world of Zendikar so vividly that last weeks story brought me to tears. Hundreds of warriors marching to sea gate backed by even goblins and vampires. It was nuts. I thought "if this was animated it would be the greatest story ever told". At the same time nothing but the worlds highest ever CGI budget could do it justice.

This weeks was great. Kiora did seem like a real B compared to her previous stories. Also she is acting a little more bad ass than she should be. She's acting like she "beat" thassa when really she stole Thassa's weapon and escaped, something she wouldn't have been able to do without planeswalking. Still it's good to know that she's so fast, even on land and out of water, that she can slay a man before he knows what happened.

Also I like that Nissa seems to have a knack for solving puzzles but not in a hyper analytical way like Jace thinks.

I have to say I liked Dranna's personality in this UR although it was a bit flat.

Stupid Wizards. They make Battle for Zendikar story so great that I actually wanted Ulamog to be imprisoned, then they go and bring in Ob to ruin it all.
