So we might actually have Liliana on Zendikar after all.
I have to say that the appearance of Gideon was a bit weird though as in the last story he collapsed on the stairs that went to the chamber of the Guildpact from exhaustion. I would believe such a thing would be reported to the Living Guildpact himself, right?
Anyway, a very cool story. I'm guessing next week will be Liliana week? :D

No, I'm pretty sure that was Liliana going "NOPE" to anything Zendikar related.
And next week is liliana week. Starting last week, each week is themed after a planeswalker. So next week is Liliana, the week after is Chandra, followed by Nissa.

I think that it's implied that the Hedron network is connected via leylines or some similar type of magic. Taken from The Lithomancer:
a nexus stone linked to every other hedron by invisible lines of force and mana.
So maybe Jace meeting Ugin will reveal a few things to us about the construction of the hedron network.

To those who have hope for Lili on Zendikar: We know who our 5 planeswalkers for BFZ block are. If you had watched the SDCC panel here, you would know that they have said we will see four of the "Origins Five" on Zendikar, and Liliana will not be one of them. We also see art of Kiora holding the Bident of Thassa, so there's a strong probability of her appearing there.

ABadMagicPlayer100 - They have also left open the possibility of planeswalkers appearing in the story and not showing up as cards. So while the Origins 5 minus Liliana and plus Kiora very well could be the planeswalkers, I think that floods the Standard environment with too many planeswalkers with the same subtypes. I wouldn't really want more than 2 of any one planeswalker in Standard at a time.

@JWiley129, that makes a lot of sense. Even if that is the case, today's article in addition to the wording of their statement would indicate that Liliana won't be appearing in any capacity on Zendikar.

RussischerZar - The only thing Liliana cares about is Liliana. Once the Eldrazi came up, Lili booked it out of there. If it has nothing to do with her, she wants nothing to do with it.

Who knows, maybe she does actually care a bit about Jace. And helping him there might get him to help her in her own troubles, so it could be a strategic move to go to Zendikar and help.
Just saying that story-wise the possibility is still there, even if she said "no" as a first reaction. Obviously if the people on the panel 100% confirmed her not being there, that's another thing.

RussischerZar - They did, from Creative Manager Jenna Helland herself. And remember, a Black character will only help people if it helps them more. Getting rid of the Eldrazi does not help Lili, in her eyes. And she certainly doesn't want to sit around and help Jace for him to say no later on.

VampireArmy - But Liliana already has something she loves as much as Sorin loves Innistrad! It just happens to be Liliana. In all seriousness, I feel like Lili is just too self-centered to truly care for anyone else. Maybe she'll have a mini-revelation once she deals with the remaining 2 demons. Until that time, she'll be as selfish as ever.
As a small aside, I've always felt that Lili's 2nd color would be Red if they were to give her one.

It's not entirely impossible. I truly believe at least a tiny bit of liliana cares about him. At least to the point where she trusts him more than anyone else

VampireArmy - I believe that Jace is the person Liliana trusts the most, aside from herself. But the UR makes it crystal clear that Jace does not trust Liliana. He has feelings for her, and he was making terrible decisions because of her, but it's not trust.

Oh i agree. It's 100% clear that he can't trust her after what she did. However, I'm sure if she were to break free of her selfish attitude (remember, she wasn't always like this) then perhaps it'll work out. Alternatively, the veil could always end up consuming her causing insanity and thus making her a rakdos walker...then dying by the hands of the other walkers.
Something else I've come to realize. I used to hate Gideon because of his whiny attitude in dotp 2012 this new Gideon is actually pretty cool. Let's hope for a boros Gideon!

Jace was one of the three Planeswalkers who broke the seal on the Eye of Ugin, resulting in the initial outbreak of the Eldrazi brood. He was also researching the hedrons.

tl;dr: Chandra had a scroll leading to the Eye of Ugin, Jace followed her, and Sarkhan Vol was there already waiting for people to show up and "protect" they eye.

Is anyone else really glad that the Jace - Lili relationship is coming back? I missed them. And hopefully Doug Beyer stops trying to micromanage Jace's character. Dude really can't write...
