Speculation about Amonkhet Gods (Spoiler Alert)

As we have seen twice now in the official stories (http://magic.wizards.com/en/products/amonkhet/story), Amonkhet used to have 8 gods, but Nicol Bolas somehow removed 3 gods and left the 5 that we currently have.

However, 8 is a weird number.

If it were 6 or 7, I would have said that the missing 1 or 2 are colorless and/or 5 color. If it were 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30, then I would have said that the missing ones are cycles of 2-4 colored combinations. However, 3 color combinations not including mono-colors feels like a weird number.

What color combinations could they have been?

I should also point out that we are missing analogues to Ra, Isis, and Osiris, so these could very well be the 3 missing gods.

The only thing that I can think of that would keep the plane balanced is that maybe and are different types of mana?

Conversely, if you look at the races on Amonkhet we see some weird things... Like Male Angels so maybe one of the gods was white based and messed up the angels? Nissa also felt some funky stuff going on with the plane itself that sounded like it was more than just Bolas screwed it up... Like the plane itself rejected death as a punishment for what Bolas did... A black god might be able to do something like that...

Or, what if Emrakul showed up in Nissa's mind because Emmy was from Amonkhet?? The timeline doesn't really add up but Wizards has shown before that they don't care about messing with timelines... If we add time travel then maybe the 3 missing gods are Eldrazi set adrift by Bolas? Which would be why he wanted them released because he needs them whenever he makes his return to amonkhet?

Yes I know thats all very unlikely but its fun to put on a tinfoil hat and play conspiracy theorist every once in a while xD

Ra: "Creator of Everything, Sun God" (Sun has power to cleanse, teach, kill, burn, and give life.)
Osiris: "God of the Dead, Justice, and Balance"
Isis: "God of Knowledge, Flesh, Motherhood, Heaven, Earth, Altruism"

haha that would be great, if bolas has time travel capabilities, and when he attacked ugin, and learned of eldrazi, he went back in time to create the eldrazis to attack zendikar (creating a bootstrap paradoxparadox where the eldrazi came from no where, because bolas had to make them for them to exist, but to make them, he needed to attack ugin to get the info)

then that would make bolas the one who time traveled sarkhan back in time, because ugin was really dead, and it was bolas's black mana (and his mind breaking touch) that kept tarkir alive

watch sarkhan be a god

sarkhan god of time

Somehow I feel like Razaketh is going to play into this.

I previously posted a theory on MS: THE WRITING ON THE WALL

Basically Bolas will return as a god, along with the other 3 gods under his control or following his rule. They will be (I hope):

  • Grixis
  • Esper
  • Jund
  • Sultai

Shrine of the Forsaken Gods

  1. Ula

  2. Emeria

  3. Cosi

Perhaps the Eldrazi were nothing more than infinite energy collectors, created by Bolas in order to sustain life on Amonkhet, for the Gods. These ones are not the same as the Theros Gods. They are not gods through enchantment, nor are they enchanted. They also do not appear to need devotion to be Gods. Of course this is all pure speculation.

I highly doubt they would touch the Isis/osiris legend with a feet long pole. Its steps on the feet of most people's senisbilities, to say the least.

After all we are talking about the company who banned a guy from participating in any sanctioned event, on the basis, of an offence that he spent jailtime 10 years prior to his ban.
