While this wasn't the most exciting UR, I still enjoyed it. Much better than last week's at least.

Gooood. Not only do we get more insight on Kiora, but we also get to see more of the zendikari's views on the god-like eldrazi.

We get Kiora's origin story at least.

Too bad Bident of Thassa lost its Nyx-goodness. It's what made it...shine. Oh well.

"The only honest god, she thought. We always knew you were a liar." that line gave me shivers. I always liked Kozilek, Butcher of Truth best.

After hearing the origin stories for the Origin's 5, Kiora's is a bit lackluster. But it makes her a bit more approachable.

It was a fine story but honestly the only UR I will care about is hearing how Ob got his spark back.

I know. I wish Wizards would get on point with that. I'm dying to know how Good Ol' Nixy got his spark back.

From the teaser for next week, it seems like we're getting a showdown between Ob Nixilis and Nissa.

"EPISODE 8: NISSAS RESOLVE

Convinced that the soul of the world retreated to Khalni Heart, Nissa returns to her home continent of Bala Ged for the first time since it fell to the Eldrazi scourge in hopes of finding the new bloom of the powerful flower and Zendikar's soul. While there, she is bombarded with memories of her past and confronted with the missteps she made since she last set foot in her village. Unwilling to revert to being the same elf she was in her youth, Nissa resists tapping into her deepest powers, afraid of falling into old, familiar patterns.

But when she comes face to face with the demon who uprooted Khalni Heart and he threatens to destroy Zendikar's soul, she has no choice but to unleash her true essence and trust herself to do the right thing."

Glad we got some Kiora stuff and a bit of background and Merfolk flavor to boot...

But I wish something more happened, all the same.

I'm getting a strong Magnificent Seven vibe from this block's story. The plane is in serious trouble, endangered by outsiders (Eldrazi). Strangers with great skill (planeswalkers) are assembled by one person desperate to save Zendikar -- Gideon.

Right now we're in that part of the story where our seven heroes are assembled. I don't know if there are seven, of course, but the overall concept and plot arch are the same. We've got Gideon, Jace, Nissa, and Kiora. We will likely get Liliana and Chandra at some point. Sorin, Nahiri, and Ugin aren't anywhere to be found, but I imagine they'll play into events somehow.

Overall I think it's a good paradigm for a story like this.

JWiley129: Oh shit oh shit oh shit!!! That just gave us EVERYTHING!

Last UR about Ob on Zendikar, he found something and uprooted it, causing Nissa's powers to disappear, which means that UR took place DURING this storyline! I'm sorry, but I need a new pair of underwear. I can't wait!

Wow, the one god the merfolk refused to worship was the one that would inadvertently save them from the Eldrazi, even though the gods WERE eldrazi but not gods but the merfolk thought they were.

(Also, computer autocorrected merfolk to menfolk. (&_&))

@JWiley129: PLEASE don't let Nissa best Ob Nixilis right then and there. We've waited too long to have him die as soon as he gets his powers back :(

I enjoyed this UR the most so far here recently to be honest. Not sure why, but I just liked it the most
