Today's focus is on the Gatewatch; through Gideon's eyes as he tries to keep that thin line between intervention (to stop Tezzeret) and interference (overthrowing the Consulate) from crossing over each other. Not exactly an easy thing when you have an angry Pyromancer on your team

You have to admit, being able to solidify Chandra's trust in this circumstance is difficult. I commend Gideon on that. Me? Well, I just want Baral to go up in smoke before we're off the plane.

  1. There's no need to be rude Quiet the formatting can be quite difficult if its not something you're used to.

  2. I really enjoyed this week's story. I like how it frames Gideon and his internal conflict... although I do think that if Lili actually bothered to explain why Tez is such a big deal he wouldn't be this calm.

I also really enjoyed this week's story. I think we are definitely going to get a showdown between Chandra and Baral; I believe he is in the flavour text of a new counter + stifle spell. I also agree that he is the perfect kind of character which can be afforded a spectacle of an end.

I laughed at Gideon and Chandra's banter when she complained about him only ever telling her what not to burn.

I am overflowing with curiosity and excitement to see what kind of planar portal Tezzeret has been building! Is he doing his own bidding, or Bolas's bidding, or Phyrexia's bidding? My suspicion is that he is still working for Bolas and that the heroes will get within arm's reach before he makes another escape with the new technology. That would link up well with giving them a reason to chase him to Amonkhet.

I wonder what kind of havoc in the ranks Dovin will be able to cause. In general I like him so I hope he and the Gatewatch manage to reconcile in some way once Tezzeret's deception is revealed.

This week's story was primarily setting up for something greater, but it is necessary to build a story before its climax, to make the climax more dramatic. I especially liked Gideon's internal struggle to balance assisting Chandra with remaining uninvolved in the plane's own internal struggle. I still am wondering whose goals Tezzeret is pursuing on Kaladesh: Bolas', Phyrexia's, or (most likely) his own?
