In which Mazirek and Vraska conspire to move some changes to the Golgari.
Man, Ravnica's going to be hell the third time. With Teysa imprisoned, Niv-Mizzet conspiring against Jace (and no doubt Lazav) and now Mazirek seeking an uprising. Yikes...

I can't wait to go back now that the guildpact is a person and hasn't been on Ravnica in a while. A mighty guild war is on the horizon.

Vraska's perspective and experience with pride were absolutely beautiful. I am excited to see what will arise from the (new) Golgari launching their empire and possibly taking over Ravnica.

I am very pelased to see a one-sot story during the interim period between Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation, even if it again focuses on Ravnica.
With this story, I believe that it is very safe to presume that there shall eventually be a third Ravnica block, due to the sheer number of unresolved plot lines on that plane.
What, exactly, is Mazirek's goal? Does he wish to conquer all of Ravnica, or merely take control of the Golgari? I do hope that he appears again, eventually.

Jarad will definitely not be happy when he learns of Mazirek's treachery, so I expect that the Golgari shall have their own civil war, which will likely have effects on the entire city of Ravnica, since the Golgari are the guild that disposes of waste and refuse from the entire plane and then recycles it into resources for the plane to use.
I am interested to learn that Vraska is involved with this plot, as well, so I expect her to have a major role the next time that the story visits Ravnica.
Also, both Teysa and Sobeslav have noticed Jace's repeated absences from the plane, so I expect that to be a major plot point in the future, as well.

I'm glad that they made something of Mazirek. He's so wonderfully comborific it would be a shame to have wasted him on a single commander entry. And teaming up with Vraska??? Mmmm. That's juicy.

It's possible Ixalan is Ravnica3. Perhaps the name of an ancient Kraul or Erstwhile city, serving as the seat of Vraska's new empire? Or a spell of some sort placed upon Ravnica by Mazirek? Given Vraska was on the pack art for (what was presumably) Ixalan's old title of Atlazan, I don't think that's totally out of the question.

Vraska's perspective of pride was interesting. She uses pride in herself as a weapon against bullying. Then she passed that along to Mazirek so that he could help stand up to his Golgari bullies.
