We get a look at Ajani, who's been trying to track down Tezzeret. We also get a look at Tamiyo's family, and a web of Planeswalker connections is revealed.

And Ajani saves the day!

Love Chandra's reaction to seeing Ajani; she's like that teenage kid getting into trouble

So given what Ajani is; I believe he's going to stay W/G in Revolt.

We have to have 2 PWs in Revolt; him and Tezz

This sounds bad, but I'm disappointed mrs. Pashri lived. WotC giving out plot armor like consulate handouts.

I won't lie but I squealed like a fan girl when Narset was mentioned. I never would have guessed that Ajani met Tamiyo, let alone having been to Kamigawa.

Return to Kamigawa! Haha I loved the mention of nezumi, one of my favorite mtg races. Killin it with the flavor! There were mentions of 5 or 6 planes in that one. And the feels! I almost cried a few times reading that..

Tamiyo hosts planeswalker story time it's so great. Ajani and Narset and there are probably others that weren't mentioned. And we know of Narset being actively part of things. This is so cool.

Ajani back in business. I loved Ajani's story of Elspeth's life and that he still had her cloak. I never would have expected Tamiyo was a wife and mother before this story! I loved the mention of Narset too. So the story group of planeswalkers seems pretty cool, unlike the warrior Gatewatch clique lol.

Next legendary enchantments: Story of Tamiyo, Story of Ajani, etc.

I really hope the Gatewatch hears about the phyrexians through Ajani so we can stop this middle school good always wins crap... Gideon seems overdue for a heroic death, I feel it would bond them and make the story so much better. Especially, since there's a replacement lined up in Ajani.

Ajani was good in this story. Way better than any of the Gatewatch. He actually has a nice character.

Also, the sheer number of references. My heart can't cope.

Zaueski I don't think Gideon is going to eat it, I think WoTC has basically said the Origin planeswalkers are the main characters of the story

goblinoid I really, really, really want it to happen, but it probably won't. (I play Kaseto, Orochi Archmage EDH.) I think I remember WotC saying they will never return to Kamigawa because of it's unpopularity before.

I wish wizards had made interesting planeswalkers like tamiyo and Ajani more featured in the story. Though I'm hoping tamiyo shows up on Theros to record the stories of the gods

Am I the only one that had a lot of trouble getting through the first part of the story? Once we got to present day and revealed the character was Ajani it was good but that first chunk was just so painful to read.

I mean, I knew it was Ajani from the start, because of the card arts and names in the set... It was fun going through that bit knowing what I wasn't supposed to know yet, lol.

I enjoyed the flashbacks more than the present. Planeswalkers Anonymous on Kamigawa, Bolas claiming Tezzeret's body, all very cool. And Tamiyo's a mama! Oooh muh gudniss!

Ajani saving Chandra, Nissa, and Oviya was fairly predictable, although still enjoyable and epic, but much more interesting is the fact that both he and Narset have been to Kamigawa and met Tamiyo; is WotC perhaps using Tamiyo as a way to see if the players are interested in returning to Kamigawa in the future?

Who was the giant on Kamigawa? Will WotC ever reveal more about him?

When Tamiyo's children were counting, I noticed that they used "shi" for four and "shichi" for seven; those words are archaic, and very few people in modern Japan ever use them, instead preferring "yon" and "nana;" did the story writers deliberately use the archaic numbers because Kamigawa is modeled after feudal Japan?

Chandra and Nissa now have a new ally in Ajani, so I am very excited to see what shall happen, next.

Certainly one of the better ones we have seen for a while.

Ajani was the giant. It's from the point of view of a Nezumi child, a buff cat would look enormous to him.

kanokarob, I did not notice that; thank you very much.

We already knew Tamiyo had a family, by the way. I'm astounded at how many people failed to pick up on it.

Zaueski says... #20

I know right? Its pointed out in Eldritch Moon when Jace and Tamiyo connect that she had a home and a family.

October 6, 2016 1:31 p.m.

kanokarob says... #21

A family, sure, we knew that, but babies! We had no confirmation that she was a mother, as I recall.

Isn't the word "children" enough to tip you off? I suppose nobody understood a word of the SOI story arc.

October 7, 2016 1:17 a.m.

kanokarob says... #23

I didn't remember the word children. My apologies, my liege.
