I cannot believe that no one has yet made a thread for this week's story, so I shall make one.

It was very nice to return to the story, and it also was good to see that there are some people in the Rakdos guild who are actually decent people, not simply sadistic torturers and depraved maniacs.

Given that the story was told from the perspective of a member of the Rakdos guild, it makes sense that the Azorius were not portrayed in a particularly flattering manner, but, even apart from that, it is clear that they are becoming far too controlling and tyrannical under their new guildmaster, so I hope that the situation does not become even worse than it currently is.

I normally am not particularly fond of ribald or vulgar humor, but such humor worked quite well in this story; I definitely was laughing at the scene in which Olrich “produced the amulet, but not through the orifice that [Kodo] had hoped.”

The ending of the story left a major mystery; Lucinka mentioned that one particular prisoner who escaped was very dangerous, so I cannot help but wonder if that person shall be mentioned, again; I shall guess that it was Domri, since the cards have been strongly hinting that he will be playing a major role in the story.

Thanks for the update, I kept watching for another story but I wasn't exactly sure when they would be returning. Will be reading this one probably soon.

It's interesting how the story kind of goes ahead and points out that pretty much any of the guilds controlled by Bolas' walkers are inveitably showing their worst sides.

Also what are they building in the story? When you read the story, it's really seems odd that they're using so much quartz and I don't think they're just building a prison, just as in Ral's case he isn't just experimenting.

Also, I don't think it's just that the story is from a Rakdos cult members perspective that the Azorius are being portrayed unflatteringly. The Azorius believe themselves to be the main force of law and order. That type of thinking leads to all types of controlling behavior and frankly bigoted behavior.

I'll admit that this story more or less solidifies my dislike for Dovin (and pretty much the Azorius now). Must be the mage in me. Having said that, I like how the story portrays a side of the Rakdos that doesn't involve its usual themes, that it's not all about sadism and pleasure but also just average members just making a living too.

Poor Kodo, though, having half his fans killed by Rakdos. Really makes sense why he is called the Showstopper.

I really quite liked this story. A neat character study while also touching on the story beats of the larger plotline. Hope the rest are as good!

I thought Kodo's comedy routine was great.
