Honorary Minotaur - a Fake History

Hey planeswalkers! It's your favorite imaginary Wizards recruitment team here and with the upcoming release of Magic Origins highlighting so many new tribal themes, we wanted to explore the secret history of one of Magic's most beloved but also unrecognized Minotaurs. (just in case Tribal Minotaur decks ever become a thing.) You probably wouldn't have guessed it, but today's topic is Fulminator Mage.

But wait, you say! Fulminator Mage is an Elemental and a Shaman, not a Minotaur, and therein lies our tale. This story may be one of the biggest blunders in our history as an imaginary creature fantasy recruitment agency, and it all began with a simple communication error.

When our eager young Minotaur showed up at the Wizards recruitment office that fateful day, he was asked what he wanted to do with his future. Being an honest fellow, if a little dim, he told them he was hungry and he wanted to learn how to spell better. The enthusiastic Wizards recruitment officer informed him that mages were spell masters and then he treated our candidate to a big meal. The confused Minotaur was inducted into the Shadowmoor ranks as the "Ful Minator Mage" shortly thereafter.

It still pains me even now, hearing that story....

Of course it all worked out for the best! Unable to correctly utilize the powerful magic he had been given, the newly dubbed Fulminator Mage simply blew up a land every time he tried to harness his new found power. There was a scramble at headquarters to figure out what had gone so terribly wrong, but by the time we had discovered our mistake, players had already fallen in love with the hungry minotaur who couldn't spell.

So while you're brewing your rogue tribal Minotaur decks, don't forget Honorary Minotaur Fulminator Mage. He may not have the Minotaur keyword but he truly exemplifies the Minotaur way with his straight forward nature, bad spelling, and tendency to blow stuff up whenever he tinkers with magic.

To be clear, this is just an imaginary article I wrote to entertain all you fine folks here on the tappedout forums. It's not really Canon-Lore, but none of the other forums seemed appropriate to drop this into. If you enjoyed, please leave a comment and share with your friends. I aim to please.

And yes, it's fake. I edited it and added a little afterwards moments after I posted it to clarity that.

As an owner of a Minotaur tribal deck, I approve of this post. If only there was a land destroying Minotaur.
