I've been wondering what to do with all the commons and uncommons I accumulate from draft and I realized I could make a peasant cube. conveniently the starting point for frontier is almost exactly when I started drafting so I thought I'd make a frontier peasant cube. what commons and uncommons from each frontier set did you guys feel really define their archetypes and were cards you picked early and built arround?

I think a good place to start would be the uncommon gold cards in sets. That can usually give a good indication of what each color combination wants to do. For example, look at UR. Their deal is usually spells (Stormchaser Mage and Mercurial Geists) but can also be artifacts (Reclusive Artificer and Whirler Virtuoso).

Also, put in fixing. The cycle of life gain dual lands from Khans and Dragons, the wedge tri-lands from Khans, the uncommon dual lands from Oath and Shadows, Evolving Wilds, Warped Landscape, and other similar stuff will help make it more fun.

There are a couple arechtype fo each Khan "wedge".

Abzan has +1/+1 counter and life gain.
Sultai has pseudo Dredge/Delve and face-down. Mardu has Dash and Raid. Temur has Morph and Ferocious/Formidable. Jeskai has Prowess type abilities.
