Possibly a stupid question

Why's Remand never played in legacy?

I have not seen any lists run this card in any list not even miracles a deck I think could put it to good use as you can spin top counter a spell and get a miracle trigger on opponents turn with the downside of knowing atleast one card they can cast

Why would you play Remand in the same format as Force of Will and Counterspell? The cantrip isn't worth your time unless you're running a very very specific kind of deck.

What he said.

The only thing I would possibly use Remand on would be a Treasure Cruise or a Dig Through Time that they just dumped their graveyard for, but that's hilariously niche. It's just worse than the rest of the counterspells in the format.

Remand fights for the same slot as Daze in most decks. Being able to play Brainstorm, Deathrite Shaman, or Delver of Secrets  Flip on turn one AND have countermagic is extremely relevant in Legacy.

What's more, there's a lot of neat tricks with Daze. One example is when your opponent Wastelands your Tundra/blue dual land. You can tap it, float a mana, tap another land for mana, Brainstorm, then Daze your own Brainstorm and pay the mana with what you have floating. You effectively use Daze like a Stifle.

Remand has the cool trick of countering your own spell and exiling Snapcaster Mage targets, but that's about it in Legacy. After turn two or three, Remand becomes complete garbage since your opponent can often recast whatever it is they played in the same turn. Unlike Modern (which is centered on powerful two-drops), Legacy is focused more on powerful one-drops. Remand often would counter things costing less mana.

That being said, I do like playing Remand in certain combo decks over Daze. It's probably the better choice in a deck like Omnishow. Even then, however, it's incredibly niche and may not be as effective as Duress, Cabal Therapy, Daze, or Red Elemental Blast/Pyroblast.
