Least Favorite Cards to See Turn 1

1st: Island and Sensei's Divining Top. I know it's going to be miracles, or at least some countertop variant, and the game is all but over already. I usually hang in there and just get beat up.

2nd: Plains and AEther Vial. Dead and taxed. Always a knock down drag out fight. I don't know why more players aren't using this currently. At least against me on cockatrice.

3rd: Taking draw after winning the roll or any other tip off for graveyard based strategies. Game 1 more so than 2 or 3 with a prepared sb.

Used to be T1 Delver. That's about it.

Belcher, cause then we just go to game 2 :P

Or maybe Exploration, because then I know Lands will either kill me next turn with Marit Lage or 40 turns later with Punishing Fire.

@ShamaLamaDingDong that's not a legacy legal play. T1 Moms always make me sigh, maverick or Dnt, the game is really good for them.

Island and Brainstorm. It's such a waste of a turn 1...

But for actual plays that I hate to have done against me, it's definitely turn 1 Sensei's Divining Top. Miracles is a pretty silly deck to play against.

Seeing nothing turn 1 can be pretty scary.
Game one against dredge usually isn't very fun.

A nut draw for reanimator. Once they drop the Lotus Petal and Lion's Eye Diamond I just sigh and wait for them to hit it.

uh, reanimator definitely doesn't play Lion's eye diamond

Never seen a Lotus Petal in Reanimator either. That sounds more like a Belcher T1 to me, along with Infernal Tutor and 4 other spells.

One of the regulars at our LGS who plays EDH constantly almost always seems to have a turn one Burgeoning.

...

Playing Animar, Soul of Elements as his general. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that his deck was stacked almost every time (Especially considering that no one cuts his deck).

I generally don't like seeing Sensei's Divining Top on turn 1 on the draw, but on the play, I laugh, because Rishadan Port beats every deck.

my least and most favorite t1 depending on which side of the table its on is Lotus Petal Ancient Tomb Show and Tell into Sneak Attack Lotus Petal activate sneak attack to put Griselbrand into play, pay 7 life, draw 7 cards Lotus Petal activate sneak attack to put Emrakul, the Aeons Torn into play. Swing. GG.

Someone could play Ancient Tomb, Sensei's Divining Top, and AEther Vial all on turn one... :P

The worst card to see on turn 1 is probably Tendrils of Agony, Goblin Charbelcher or Dread Return.

Maybe you were intending to ask what's the worst card to see played first(rather than "on turn 1")

turn 1. Dark Ritual, Thoughtsieze, Sinkhole, Surgical Extraction remove the non basic land they played on turn one, and every other one in their deck... yea, i hate seeing this, but when i do it on turn 1, the look on their faces is EPIC..as for a turn 1 top, i know what i must do, save my countermagic for them casting counterbalance, and have at least 2 countermagic spells, because they usually have some protection, so it can be cast....

I hate to see Entomb or Grafdigger's Cage come down on turn 1. (Dredge is my fave deck)
