I have it kinda tossed together now with the mentors, stoneblade package, deathrites and abrupt decays, then the box of blue spells. It's more Esper+Green.

Also toyed around a bit with a Thopter Foundry deck that had the stoneblade stuff too, that was interesting. I think I just like playing with the triggers on MTGO

Delver is Sultai now?

May 7, 2015 10:13 p.m.

ThisIsBullshit says... #3

Delver is Sultai? I don't think I've ever heard those words in the same sentence before.

wow lol didn't realize I scaly posted the first one

redundant posts are redundant lol

*already not scaly

Sorry for the quadruple post

kyuuri117 says... #6

Well, Bug Delver. Same thing. It's been around for awhile I think.

May 7, 2015 10:31 p.m.

kyuuri117 Skylasher? It looks good against Delver on paper and can be tutored w/ GSZ.

Mentor looks amazing in the right deck. Does Miracles run him now? Can't recall the archetypes I've seen him in...

Tibs, Sultai Delver can be sweet given the meta. Goyf, Tasigur, discard, Bob, FoW, and Abrupt Decay are all powerhouses in the format.

@klone13 It sure as heck can be. gives you potent options that doesn't have, but you loose Academy Rector which is a centerpiece of the deck.

May 7, 2015 10:35 p.m.

ThisIsBullshit says... #8

But then is it really delver at that point?

May 7, 2015 10:39 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #9

Why wouldn't it be delver? It has Delver of Secrets, daze, stifle, wasteland.

May 7, 2015 10:42 p.m.

Sure is. Delver is a Tempo deck, that is, you stick a threat or two and protect it, swinging each turn. It can be a grindy deck like a cross between Aggro and Control, which can function like either pending the matchup. This is why Delver is so good.

What decks are Meditate good in other than possibly Stasis?

May 12, 2015 7:49 p.m.

EndStepTop says... #12

High tide plays it as like a 1 of last time I checked.

May 12, 2015 8:09 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #13

Taking a turn off seems awfully dangerous in legacy.

May 12, 2015 8:47 p.m.

@kyuuri117

You're usually not taking another turn after using it.

May 12, 2015 8:51 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #15

Yea i guess. I can see it as a one of in high tide as mentioned but anywhere else it just seems like a bust.

May 12, 2015 9:01 p.m.

klone13 says... #16

Ok- but anything else?

May 12, 2015 9:50 p.m.

Stasis?

May 12, 2015 9:50 p.m.

klone13 says... #18

Well I know it can be in Stasis. Its actually good in stasis because of its instant speed.

May 12, 2015 9:52 p.m.

klone13 says... #19

But seriously is there any other deck that its good in?

May 12, 2015 10:11 p.m.

klone13 says... #20

What about Meditate and Standstill?

May 12, 2015 10:16 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #21

So apparently people have been playing with Collected Company in legacy, using stuff like vend clique, stoneforge mystic, meddling mage, phyrexian revoker, baelful strix, and other good etb stuff.

May 22, 2015 4:30 p.m.

EndStepTop says... #22

Bant/ BUG midrange? Or is it 4c like death blade? Any links/decklists? Seems cute in bant with edric to draw off the creatures you'll vomit out.

May 22, 2015 4:40 p.m. Edited.

kyuuri117 says... #23

it's like, 4 color deathblade basically, with no counterspells.

May 22, 2015 4:51 p.m.

EndStepTop says... #24

Eh it sounds like a quantity over quality version of nic fit pod.

May 22, 2015 4:57 p.m.

Collected Company could be good in Nic Fit... Interesting. You could easily set it up with Top and/or Library.

Has it posted any results?

May 22, 2015 6 p.m.

Nic Fit can use Pod and is successful by going bigger than other decks in the format.... why run Company?

May 22, 2015 6:02 p.m.

True, but Company seems like it could be extra versions of Pod/GSZ. It can also hit stuff that GSZ can't due to not being . Seems good, and intriguing, in theory. Plus there's lots of good ish with CMC 3 or less in the format.

Again, in theory.

May 22, 2015 6:09 p.m.

EndStepTop says... #28

Pod and gsz also grab specific things, company hits typically blind cards.

Yay! Legacy forum is back.

To get things started, I think we can talk about EMA and how it might shift the meta. Right now it looks like a lot of people are jumping into Death and Taxes (myself included). Do y'all think some anti-Taxes decks will begin popping up (Punishing Jund, Cloudpost, etc)?

June 6, 2016 9:50 a.m.

Boza says... #31

Not really. D&T did not significantly change in pricing from EMA reprinting its single relevant card. The price drop experienced by Karakas and to a smaller extent Wasteland will be picked up by Rishadan Port and other staples.

Play some 1-2 Rule of Law in the SB with 3 Enlightened Tutor to fetch them up versus punishing jund.

A Gaddock Teeg or two in the side will take care of a lot of matchups, esepcially if you splash green, including 12post or just smartly playing your Phyrexian Revoker.

June 6, 2016 10:04 a.m.

buildingadeck says... #32

Boza: Would Eidolon of Rhetoric be just as good as RoL since both still die to Decay, which is the premier non-StP spell in the format?

Also, should I focus my efforts on picking up Ports then before they spike?

June 6, 2016 11:09 a.m.

Boza says... #33

Absolute Law is what i meant. Ports have already spiked 20 bucks and they won't be reprinted until the next EM set, so they can only go up from now on.

June 6, 2016 11:12 a.m.

buildingadeck says... #34

Gotcha. Well, I'll pick up some Absolute Laws in case, and hope to pull some value in EMA drafts/sealed events (lucky enough to find at least 1 store that has one).

June 6, 2016 11:14 a.m.

I really hope DnT doesn't become more popular, I lose to that deck

June 6, 2016 11:24 a.m.

buildingadeck says... #36

ThisIsBullshit: This shows the upward tick in DnT as of April. I would only expect that to rise as EMA hits.

What do you play?

June 6, 2016 11:39 a.m.

I play Sneak and Show, turns out Karakas is good against legendaries you cheated out and Thalia wrecks all my shit

June 6, 2016 12:54 p.m.

buildingadeck says... #38

Lol, all that is quite true. What are Sneak and Show's better matchups? I'm learning the meta right now, so I'm just curious what it thrives against.

June 6, 2016 1:22 p.m.

Sneak and Show is a combo deck, so it pretty much stomps fair decks. Jund, most Delver, Lands, etc. Matchups against other combo decks like Reanimator or Storm come down to "can I combo off before you and do you have FoW?". Last time I played Miracles I beat him but that's because the pilot was inexperienced so I don't know what that matchup is like. Pretty sure it's in my favor but not sure.

June 6, 2016 1:52 p.m.

buildingadeck says... #40

Yeah, I figured lands and Jund would be good. A bit surprised at Delver, but I guess it depends on whether or not they run Stifle and whether or not they hit more FoW and Daze than you.

Miracles is probably strong provided they don't hit the counters for Sneak Attack or Show and Tell.

June 6, 2016 2:03 p.m.

kyuuri117 says... #41

I dunno, I think DnT has become a little more affordable. Port's have gone up what, $10-15 each? And Karakas has dropped $40 and will continue to drop. Wastelands are down $10 each too, so it should be a little less expensive.

June 6, 2016 5:02 p.m.

buildingadeck says... #42

Overall, yeah, it will make the deck marginally cheaper for players, but I think it will stay, more or les, similar in value. However, the illusion of achievability has a lot of people bandwagoning into the deck.

June 7, 2016 10:53 a.m.

Boza says... #43

Well, if you want to cash in on that cheapness of 100 bucks or so, do it now. Within a month when the set stops being opened Karakas will do like tarmogoyf and head upwards.

Death and Taxes is an incredibly satisfying deck, regardless of the price and is a solid competitor that is always varying and mutating. Just last week, an SCG tourney was won by D&T with 4 Eldrazi Displacer in the main, while the week before that, a list hit top 8 with 4 Vryn Wingmare instead.

June 7, 2016 11:01 a.m.

buildingadeck says... #44

Interesting weekend of legacy. It looks like Miracles is still the preferred deck of most players, comprising 50% of the meta over the weekend. I haven't gotten the chance to pore over all the deck lists yet to check for nuances, but I'm interested to see how many people have begun to test Nahiricles.

June 15, 2016 6:39 a.m.

EndStepTop says... #45

Miracles placed 8 in the top 16 of Columbus this weekend and managed 2 in the top 16 for Prague. The break down of the top 200 across both puts miracles at an equal share with Shardless, Grixis Delver and Eldrazi, claiming it was "50% of the meta" is asinine. Nahiricles has been tested by some players and it's pretty bad. TL;DR Emmy is trash out of the combo and Nahiri isn't great out side of a few niche areas where Jace would be equal in power or just better.

June 16, 2016 9:05 p.m. Edited.

Do you guys think miracles needs to be/should be banned? It's been around for so long and I hear people complain about it all the time but to me it doesn't seem that bad. I'd rather play against it than DnT. Fuck that noise.

June 16, 2016 9:42 p.m.

EndStepTop says... #47

No. People circlejerk around the "best deck" being banned for a few months and then something shakes the balance in the meta. Sneak and show was the target before Miracles, and Bug Delver before that.

June 16, 2016 9:43 p.m. Edited.

Boza says... #48

Well, this is always the case in every format. At the same time, there are calls for bans of GW tokens in standard, any number of decks in Modern, various cards in commander, etc. Solution?

Play vintage or Canadian Highlander! Nothing is ever banned!

June 17, 2016 5:12 a.m. Edited.

buildingadeck says... #49

I apologize for misrepresenting the data in my post about Miracles. I do not think the deck needs to be banned; adjustments can be made to opposing decks to optimize in that matchup in the main and sideboard. Enough decks have decent matchups against it for it to not necessitate banning any cards from the deck.

June 17, 2016 5:29 a.m.

Nothing banned in legacy this time around. I was hoping something in miracles would go, but alas, tis not so.
