Interesting Budget Legacy Combo

Legacy Deck Help forum

I have a new idea for a deck that utilizes Allosaurus Rider , Eldritch Evolution , and Metamorphosis . It will be mono-green, and will contain plenty of ramp. Any other good card recommendations?

I cant really speak for Legacy play however; ive seen a neat Modern brew on here using Eldritch Evolution . Birds of Paradise , Somberwald Sage are some ramp... maybe undying/persist would be nice like Strangleroot Geist / Kitchen Finks or maye Thragtusk could come in handy for sacrifice fodder... Surrak, the Hunt Caller could work for a haste enabler?

Vman, Tooth and Nail is great but would probably only run 1-2 because of the hefty cost.

Icbrgr, I like the idea of making this deck a toolbox, so I believe that Thragtusk and Kitchen Finks would work really well

Natural Order is the one-card combo you're lookin' for in legacy. Here's a decklist you might like. There also used to be Temur and Bant value versions circa 2010.

If you want to play Allosaurus Evolution, Modern is the way to go (and a great combo target is Iona, Shield of Emeria or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite ).

EDIT: Oops, I just saw the "budget" in the title - but I'd still consider NO a budget legacy deck. If you play mono-green, you don't even need lands more expensive than Ancient Tomb .

A lot of these are in the $10 range but might as well suggest em' anyways.

Eldrich Evolution decks are usually good at getting out a turn 2 Magus of the Moon / Eidolon of Rhetoric off a mana dork for the occasional free win.

Don't forget also that Birthing Pod is still legal in that format and gives you a less weak to Force of Will alternative to EE that also works as an engine if the rest of your deck is derpy green creatures. The drawback being your payoff would have to be in the 8 cmc range which isn't the worst considering that includes Griselbrand , Craterhoof Behemoth , Tidespout Tyrant , Archetype of Endurance , Ashen Rider and Platinum Emperion (literally all the same payoffs as the format's primary reanimation deck -elesh norn).

Chancellor of the Tangle is a green mana source that pitches to Allosaurus Rider and can even be a payoff in a pinch and Chancellor of the Annex gives you a potential to go off turn 1 with the pregame trigger for backup and also can be a payoff sometimes.

Insist cantrips, pitches to rider and can even punish opponents who plan to "counter the payoff not the mana source".

I might add more suggestions if I think about them.

Oops for some reason assumed Natural Order would be $200 apiece. Still at $20 it's at least cheap enough that I can imagine a world where 4 order + 1 Progenitus + 35 forests and elves could be both cheaper and more competitive that something that was trying to make Allosaurus Rider happen seeing as it requires multiples of so many parts. Kinda defeats the purpose of the thread tho lol.

Instead of undying/persist which was suggested above, why not go for Vengevine . Thanks to the reprint they are only ~$12 a piece. Play Vengevine , use either Eldritch Evolution or Metamorphosis . If you use Metamorphosis and then cast a creature with the mana from Metamorphosis that will pull Vengevine back into play (assuming this occurs the same turn you cast Vengevine ). May cost a few extra $$ but it would be significantly more competitive and as far as Legacy goes would be quite budget still.
