Dig Through Time Replacements?

Legacy Deck Help forum

I've been looking to start building a legacy deck, and a few days ago, I decided that the build I wanted to make was a Show and Tell list. Obviously, the Dig Through Time ban changes what this list looks like. I'm thinking about swapping 3 of them for 3 more copies of Impulse and the fourth for a fourth copy of Cunning Wish to fetch Eladamri's Call from the sideboard, since Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is the most frequently missed part of the combo.

Well, that sounds bad.

If you decided only a few days ago to do it, why not change now, after the changes made specifically to curtail Omnitell's omnipresence? Or did you in just a few days, acquire all the parts for the deck?

The problem with Impulse is that it is half the card dig is for the same CMC. Digging for a card that looks for a card that looks for another card seems less than ideal.

How about changing the win condition to Blightsteel Colossus and the search card to Fabricate?

Boza: I really like the feel of Omnitell, so I want to stick with the deck concept.

My biggest problem with Blightsteel Colossus is that it is much less resilient than Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, easily removed by Swords to Plowshares and other staples in the format, whereas Flying Spaghetti Monster has very little limitations, and he gives you an extra turn to avoid being hit by Supreme Verdict or some other sweeper that Miracles might run.

There is no card that is as good as DTT in the format. Period. That's why it's banned. I guess what I'm asking is this: What did the deck run before Dig existed?

Intuition can work if you are not playing it. Otherwise, Impulse is indeed the big dig spell that was played prior to DTT.

-4 Dig, -4 Omniscience, +4 Griselbrand, +4 Sneak Attack or something like that. :)

Boza: I'm currently running one copy of Intuition. Should I up that count to two? It's an incredibly good card, especially since Emrakul just shuffles your graveyard.

GlistenerAgent: I'd like to know why taking out Omniscience is your course of action. Why are you making those swaps?

buildingadeck, GlistenerAgent is making it into a sneak-and-show deck instead of omnitell

Then my question is this: is it worth it to make that change?

No, as you sneak to work, you also have to increase the big mana creatures you put into play. In Omnitell, you can basically play mono-blue and be happy with it. However, once you add in Sneak, you get into more unstable mana and more requirements for fatties.

Add more Intuition and Impulse, be sad they are not DTT, and call it a day.

It's a different deck. Sneak and Show > Omnitell without Dig.
