Deck inspirations

The Kitchen Table forum

Hello

I am playing a lot of magic with my friends. For the kitchen table we have pretty good decks i would say... most of our decks have a card value around 200€. I already have a goblin, elves and a UB control deck. Most of my friends decks are aggro decks.

Now i wanna build a new deck which is fun to play and gives me something to think. It should have a bit of everything in it (not too much creatures, lot of different card types) + can crush my friends aggro decks. ;-)

Would be glad for any suggestions or just tell me your favourite decks to play. I love older cards and im not afraid to spend some money, so expensive cards like tarmogoyf etc. are no problem.:P

Cheers NW

Gifts storm is awesome. It had a ton of decisions to make and it's really fun to play.

In a playgroup with lots of aggro decks... Turbofog comes to mind... but it honestly loses its charm after the first game imo/experience..

But in general I say control is the way to go if you wanna think/make decisions... a very cheeky shell to consider is skred red which has a very small shell with lots of room for customization... and its cheap.... Snow-Covered Mountains with Skred and some sweepers like Anger of the Gods with Blood Moon and Koth of the Hammer and your on your way to a really fun deck with lots of choices and can handle aggro without being boring.

Modern Jund.

Is exactly that(I think).

It's specifically built around Tarmogoyf so it has some artifacts, lands, planeswalkers, creatures, instants, and sorceries, and probably some enchantments depending on the exact list.

It has good creatures, good spells, has a lot of interaction, a lot of card draw-esque effects(especially now that they have Wrenn and Six and its whole gameplan is "target opponent doesn't get to do anything". Basically, you get to play as a dictator and your opponent is the rebellion trying to kill you so they can be free.
