What is the best or funnest way to destroy or remove Emrakul, the Aeons Torn? I like things like Avatar of Woe,Cyclonic Rift's overload cost, or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre's first ability. How about you?

My personal favorite is when the person next to me AEtherspouts his opponent's Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, Spawnsire of Ulamog and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, then ultimated Jace, the Mind Sculptor on his turn...

How does avatar get rid of him?

I like using a Karn Liberated on my opponent's fatties, I once played against a friend who got Emrakul out turn 6, then I proceeded to exile him with my newly cast Karn the next turn. He just about killed me.

Anyways, the only other true removal for a card like Emrakul that I can think of off the top of my head is Legacy Weapon.

@EmblemMan Avatar works because he only has protection from colored spells, but once avatar is on the battlefield it is no longer a spell, it's a permanent.

Personal favorite? I was playing a silly fork deck, and another of my friends was playing a group hug deck that was oriented around giving us like 40 mana in our pool or something else ridiculous. So, my friend dropped an Emrakul and passed his turn. On my turn, I played and swung with a Raging Goblin, cast a Howl of the Horde, Reiterate'd it like 6 times, then played a Ghostfire to kill both his Emrakul and most of the board.

killing the guy who played him is my favorite way to handle emrakul.

I feel like this is a very simple question. Isn't it best to just have them sac their emrakul to an annihilator 6 of your own? I think so.

The other day in tabletop multiplayer, I ate one players Kozilek, Butcher of Truth with Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet then killed him with the vampire token. Then ate a giant Mistcutter Hydra and killed that player with that vampire token. That was fun.

But I mean exile effects are the best way. Oblivion Ring namely.

I'll just leave this here. Seems relevant.

Kravian says... #12

@accelerando11 It should be 21 tokens, just so you have annihilator fodder.

Journey to Nowhere was always a sexy option.

I dropped a Duplicant on him in MTGO Legacy Cube. I won that game.

I prefer to just kill the player who cast him.

With Ulvenwald Tracker on the battlefield, flash in Ambush Viper. Personal favorite.

Alternatively, if you have the fodder to sac to his annihilator, Winged Coatl will do the job as a blocker.

Step 1: Make 15 1/1 green squirrel tokens

Step 2: Give them flying

Step 3: Profit!

Crackling Doom and other such sac effects but Doom is my favorite since it also deals 2 to the caster and will pretty much always target Emrakul.

Seriously, just anything that has an activated (or triggered) ability that gains control of a creature. Daring Thief, Simic Manipulator, Beguiler of Wills, the new Temur legend from Fate Reforged, etc.

I'm fortunet enough to never have been on the recieving end of Annihilator 6 :D however someone did block mine with a Vampire Nighthawk. But I was totally okay with a 7 for 1 that gave me an extra turn ;p

Why not? It was an interesting question, I'm board and had a valid answer, I do not look at how old a thread is (maybe I should) but I see no harm in putting my 2c worth in

I would have to say, casting Necromancy on a Flayer of the Hatebound when they declare an attack before annihilator triggers is my favorite. If they're at a low enough life total, it can just kill them.

Aside from quirky and impractical, there's always the aforementioned: Oblivion Ring.

Duplicant, Evacuation, Sower of Temptation, and Vampire Nighthawk are also good at getting rid of Emmy.

January 16, 2015 11:43 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #33

It is a rule of thumb for forums everywhere, necroing always has and always will be frowned upon. And there are a TONNE of things that can remove the tentacle monster, so there isn't really anything to worry about.

Hmm well if yall don't want old threads resurrected then (and I know yall have the power to do so) just delete old threads that have been inactive fot say 7 days so they can't be resurrected otherwise they are fair game
