Best causal variant of multiplayer?

My former causal mtg group often plays multiplayer with various rules. We often try stupid combinations like assault commander (it was horrible) and two-headed multi (it was great). Of all the causal variants I feel that generally skeleton is the worst and King&Queen is the best. I wonder what your favorite causal variant is and why? Also have you tried to create own rules for the game? Was it successful?

EDH Archenemy and EDH Planechase are probably some of the most fun. It can get ridiculous though.

My Playgroup ranges from 4-10 players in one night, and a 10 player game of Magic gets absolutely crazy. My personal Favorite is Emperor, and I'm curious how an EDH Emperor game would go.

Yeah, EDH Planechase is brilliant but it goes on for ever...

My brother and I have talked about making a "star" game with 3 other people and each person would have a mono color deck (5 people, 5 colors, 5 point star) you would all sit in color order but the to people on ether side of you are your alies and the 2 people across from you are your enemies (so your 2 alies would be enimies) and the first person to have both enimies killed off is the winner (evan if he does not kill ether enimy) we always thought it would be a great (and very political) game we just could never get 3 others to play :-( now he lives in Oregon and I live in Texas and we have not played a game in over 5 years now and I've gotten into EDH ( now my favorite format of all time) and he has quit playing

I have tried out double planechase, and one time we also did triple planechase to be really fancy. It was kind of a gong show, we both had about 20ish goat tokens. I won via mill.

I like Chaos Cards to. Because you get to make really random cards like "Awesome!" which basically becomes like a Phyrexian Arena for the Chaos deck. It depicts two scorpions fighting it out with cutlery.

Pauper Planechase. Use planes to make up for the large neutering of (nonblue) power level.

Me and my friends once tried Commander Planechase...which went horrible well ((If you ask me. Then again, I was the one with a turn 1 20/20 Malignus)) I doubt it'll last long but it'd be fun to give it a try once.
