A new(?) format

Not sure if this is the correct board for this, although i guess it could be a challenge.
70 cards, EDH rules, commander has to be a planeswalker.
thoughts?

All i've ever wanted to do since i aquired him is use Nicol Bolas as a commander :'( But yeah there could be tons of abuse with certain walkers. well i was just thinking of a way to make the game not as long as edh, but still longer than a regular 60 card match. idk i didnt put too much thought into it

yknow, you guys can just house rule that you can use walkers :\
My group let me do it once and I used tibalt. no one paid attention to me since I was pillowforting and then I popped his ult and finished off most of the players. it was great :)

There's not enough---with only 74 different Planeswalkers total, IMO theres very few colors to choose from. We may have at least one for each guild, but beyond that, there's only Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, Sarkhan Unbroken, and Tamiyo, Field Researcher for 3 colors, and the rest are single color.
I do agree with previous responses, that some are instantly broken: cough, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, cough. However, a simple fix is a banned list.
Although, I like the idea! When I started playing, me and a friend started by using walkers as psuedo-Commanders, so being it's own format would be awesome!

Well iirc there's a WU Venser, but I get your point. And yeah broken walkers make the selection even more slim. Just wish we could go back in time and make planeswalkers and make them only to be used as commanders. Or something to that effect. Idk I feel like there's a great idea to be had for the planeswalkers that just isn't there yet, you know?

I honestly hope one day they make the planeswalkers legal as commanders one day, even though some of them are broken as hell. Anyways, in terms of a format like this, I think forcing people to choose a planeswalker makes the broken ones more broken. In addition, I don't think it's necessary to change the deck size down to 70, it probably is an unnecessary change that only makes the format more complicated.
