Will there Ever Be a White/Blue Variant of Clone?

General forum

Clone is an iconic card in this game, inspiring numerous variations of it, nearly all of which are actually superior to it (but that is an instance of “power creep,” which occurs in nearly any game), most of which are mono-blue, as is the original, but there are some multicolored variations; Evil Twin is a black/blue variation, Dack's Duplicate is a red/blue variation, and both Altered Ego and Progenitor Mimic are green/blue variations.

However, thus far, there is no white/blue variation of Clone , so I do hope that such a creature is printed eventually, since white is my favorite color in this game.

What does everyone else say about this? Will there eventually be a white/blue variant of Clone ?

Surprised it hasn't happened already honestly. Especially considering how many options there are between Simic and Dimir. I hope it's something like Dack's Duplicate with 2 relevant abilities. Flash and Flying or Flying and a 'counter stuff that targets it unless is paid' like Frost Titan ... just something useful and at .

I want to say no... because I see no way that someone/something can be copied for the sake of good/law. Everything else makes sense: Dimir spy stuff, Simic & Izzet experiments and animists(shifters), Mono U trickery, deception, illusion, etc... Unless another set flips the color wheel and makes White the deceptive bad guy I can't see any logical explanation for a WU clone.

Benevolent Double

Benevolent Double enters the battlefield as a copy of any creature except it gains Vigilance and 'Creatures with the same name as this creature can't attack or block and it's activated abilities can't be activated'

"Trust me, it's better for everyone"

Mj3913 white is about balance so maybe have a X in the mana cost and it copies something cost X mana?

A non-targetting bounce would be awesome too. Clones already get around targetting and hexproof, shroud, and protections... why not get around it twice.

~ enters the battlefield as a copy of any creature except it gains 'When this creature ETB, return the creature it copied to its owners' hand.

You can't have a 0/0 enter and then copy something because it'd immediately die to sba's. It needs the 'enters as a copy' template.

I've one-upped my bounce clone to double as token hate. I want this card now...

Requisition Double

Flash

Requisition Double enters the battlefield as a copy of any creature except it gains "When this creature enters the battlefield, return all other creatures with the same name to their owners' hands". 0/0

I was going for something that'd be similar in function to Detention Sphere . Feels Azorius to me.

I've previously made a bounce variant, basically flicker with the bonus that you can cast the original later:
