Why is Body Double Blue and Not Black?

Blue is the color that most frequently can copy creatures, but I feel that Body Double should be black, rather than blue, since black is the color that is most concerned with using the graveyard as a resource (although green is nearly tied with it in that regard).

What does everyone else say about this? Why is Body Double blue and not black, and will WotC ever print a black version of it in the future?

Idk... blue also has tons of graveyard synergies and mill too.... but I get ur point with a version... I can see it happening.... maybe a morbid clone could be cool.... when the clone enters the battlefield destroy target creature and create a copy of that creature under your control (or something like that?)

It was originally printed in Planar Chaos, which was meant to show alternate color pie identity.

x12721, that makes sense, but I still am hoping for a black version of it in the future.

In a way Body Double practically is a Beacon of Unrest in creature form minus the artifact clause. They should make a creature form in mono-black at four mana given the power creep since Body Double was printed. If they need to balance it they can have it enter the battlefield tapped.

Planar Chaos is an explanation, but all permanent copy effects are blue, period.

I think for Planar Chaos they decided to cut the black from it's color identity as fully reasonable, as there are similar cards but they're blue and black.

Although it's not out of place at all. Blue has plenty to do with the graveyard. Narcomoeba, Snapcaster Mage and more are classic graveyard-them blue cards. Blue doesn't always deal with creatures in the grave, but when it does it's with indirect stuff like Moeba.
