Why Do People Use Gender-Specific Pronouns For the Eldrazi Titans?

I find it to be very weird that characters in the story use gender-specific pronouns for the eldrazi titans, when the eldrazi are utterly alien compared to sentient humanoind beings, in terms of both physical form and mindset.

That usage is made even weirder when characters gender-neutral pronouns for the aetherborn on Kaladesh, despite the fact that the aetherborn are much closer to the common humanoid races in terms of both physical form and mindset.

What does everyone else say about this subject?

I believe it may be just be them considering them the genders of the gods they appeared as after their true nature was forgotten, simply called that gender still for simplicity. Ulamog was Ula the god of the sea, Kozilek was Cosi the god of the land and earth, and Emrakul was Emeria, goddess of the wind and sky.

Though, Emrakul appeared to Jace in his mind as Emeria when she mentally contacted him, with that revealing her possible gender. But that also just might have been his mind desperately trying to make something something beyond his understanding into something he could comprehend.

I could be entirely wrong though.

Noire_Samhain, that explanation makes sense; that people use those terms out of convenience and familiarity and that Emrakul used that form because it was one with which Jace was comfortable and familiar.

TypicalTimmy, that it similar to the Great Mother in Dungeons & Dragons, the progenitor of the beholders; whether or not it is actually female is uncertain, but everyone calls it by that name because it supposedly gave birth to all beholders.
