Was a graveyard ever printed?

I can't think of any. Have we ever received a land card that depicted a graveyard? You would think that maybe on Innistrad we would have had one. I don't think cards like Grim Backwoods or Tomb of the Spirit Dragon count. I mean a full on graveyard.

Side note...if one was ever printed what should it do?

Does Nephalia Drownyard depict a graveyard?

Graveyard

Graveyard comes into play tapped unless you sacrifice a non-basic land.

Tap, sacrifice a land: add x mana of any one color to your pool where x is equal to the amount of lands in your graveyard.

Seems slightly powerful but whatever. Not sure if there's anything like that.

Woodland Cemetery, Nephalia Drownyard and Lantern-Lit Graveyard all depict graveyards. But would be interesting to see a Graveyard land do something. Some sort of effect when a creature dies would be most appropriate in my opinion.

Totally forgot about Nephalia Drownyard's art. Good call ducttapedeckbox.

ZeGinger, that's interesting.

Onion_duck, o never knew Lantern-Lit Graveyard existed and can't believe I forgot Woodland Cemetery is indeed a graveyard.

Vamp, haha!

I'm less talking about a card that shows a graveyard as much as a utility land that IS a graveyard, and does something that's interactive with either dead creatures, or something that you can sacrifice for a Buried Alive type effect. Do we have any of those?

Maybe: Clever Graveyard Name

Comes into play tapped. 1B (tap), Sacrifice clever graveyard name: search your deck for up to two creature cards and put them into your graveyard. 1WW (tap), sacrifice clever graveyard: return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. BW (tap), sacrifice clever graveyard name: exile target players graveyard.

Clearly not all of those in one card, and strictly not better than Tormod's Crypt in the last instance, but is graveyardy.

MagicalHacker, yep, that's a printed graveyard that answers my question. It's a cemetery, and its utility is very graveyardy. Cool

Ancient Tomb I'm assuming is a tomb. Also has ghosts.

Overgrown Tomb is definitely a tomb

Overgrown Tomb is a full on catacomb

Woodland Cemetery is the closest to the art that I'm talking when I say graveyard. Haunted Fengraf is closest in ability.

Why the hell is Elephant Graveyard $33?!

Really everyone? Oversold Cemetery ring any bells?

Arvail says... #17

OFC not. The card is shit as long as we have trash-tier elephants. What are you going to regenerate, Bull Elephant? Uh oh, watch out! Elephant Ambush!

No, but for real though, the only good elephants in the game are Terastodon, Loxodon Hierarch, and Loxodon Smiter. We need a legendary elephant...

I'm sure that topic is irr-elephant.

On-topic: I'm very sure there has been, as literally everyone on this thread mentioned.

@Ohthenoises Yes but he did specifically ask for lands.

@capriom85 I'd say the first ability you suggested on your land (two from the library to the graveyard) would be ludicrously powerful, it's double Entomb for free and can't be countered.

capriom85 says... #21

I costed (horrible word) it at 1B so it's double Entomb for double cost but still powerful. Hmmm

DarkMagician says... #22

I just saw the tap, not the 1B. Still it doesn't eat a slot and it can't be countered through standard means. Perhaps a single Entomb ability instead.

capriom85 says... #23

Taking into consideration how powerful Entomb is, Dark Magician , I agree. Might even make sense to sacrifice a land when it enters the battlefield instead of coming in tapped. Then we can allow it to tap for B, or tap for 1 or B, but if you tap for B you lose 1 life.

I can't believe wizards never made an interactive graveyard before, though. The examples above absolutely depict graveyards/cemeteries, but none of them are actually an interactive bury/exhume utility land.

Comes into play tapped, tap for B lose one life, 1B tap sac: Entomb perhaps. Would be an amazing land
