If I run a deck with only white and artifact spells but have to splash blue for the activation of one artifacts ability is it still fair to call the deck Mono-White?

Yes, yes I believe so. A lot of burn decks are mostly red, are still called mono-red but splash for instance white. As long as it is a small percentage, I think it's still good.

It seems you're being perfectly truthful. Mono-white it is. :)

Unless it's an edh deck in which case that blue activation cost would make it a blue artifact. Otherwise, you can call it whatever you want.

kyuuri117 The blue activation cost would affect the cards color identity but not it's actual color. For all in game purposes the artifact is still colorless unless there is a colored mana symbol in its casting cost.

you can call your mono green elf deck fivecolorurzastaxcontrolaggro if you like, names dont actually matter. well thats not totally true... we had one guy banned from GPT because he always calls his deck "wiener control" no matter what hes playing and the judge took that somehow personal when looking through the deck lists. thats not supposed to happen tho -.-

the deck list form you have to fill before attending tournaments doesnt ask for archetypes or discriptions and the name doesnt matter. its all for T/O only.

I'm not asking for tournament reasons I'm just asking if the deck still qualifys as Mono-White or not
