Travelling with cards?

I'm moving home in a week after college and I'm wondering if I should check in or hand carry my deckboxes. I have two satin towers and i'm wondering whether they could possibly split open in my luggage? also if the luggage gets lost, would I be able to claim the full cost of the decks or would cards be considered not valuable?

Not sure how the cards could be labeled as not valuable.

As far as question 1 goes, Satin Deckboxes are pretty strong. But if you're really concerned then cut some corrogated cardboard to fit aroudn them and then use packing tape/masking tape (you may also want to pack some scissors in your check luggage) to stop the deckboxes from coming open but also not leaving tape marks on them.

As for question 2, How much are the decks worth? If they were a single item, say some sort of electronics, would you put them in carry-on or check luggage. Because if you're talking about $50 and it would suck but not be that big of a deal vs. $2K and now I'm fuming mad - that's your call.

Okay, I feel like I actually have some input here as I travel a lot.

I bring decks that have some serious value in carry-on, (ex: foil modern jund deck, legacy deck, or my commander deck when I had it)

any cards that are easily replaceable go under the plane.

So pretty much you have to decide if you don't mind replacing any decks should they get lost.

yeah i got a tron deck with 2 karns and an infect deck with hierarchs so losing them would be pretty anger inducing lol

I would have them transported separately. On some type of armored aircraft with Seal Team 6 on board to protect them from hi-jackers.

i think i'm gonna take all the cards of value and put them in my crappy flip boxes i take to drafts and take the draft dregs that are in those boxes now and put them in the towers, check the towers, carry on the flip boxes, and replace when i get home.

because i tried loading up both my towers with the decks and die into my carry on bag and it was brutally heavy, considering i gotta lug 2 massive suitcases on to a train and then the plane.
