That lovin' feelin...

Does anyone else love the feel of finally assembling a deck list with actual cards? I've been brewing and testing my standard deck for Khans release for a while, and I finally finished building it with actual cards instead of proxies and it feels soooo goood...

Finishing a deck DOES feel good, but how does it compare to other things that "feel good"?

Finishing a deck vs New Car Smell? I'm going to have to go with New Car Smell here. Cars on average cost more than a deck of Magic cards, so New Car Smell wins here.

Finishing a deck vs A hot shower? I think finishing a deck wins this one. People bathe (hopefully) regularly, so the appeal of a shower has diminishing marginal returns.

Hmmm that's a good question. I enjoy playing Magic more than I enjoy driving a car though, so maybe that drives my desire to finish decks to be more than getting a new car. This is a tough new dimension to think about.

That sleeved up new deck is so great. But my joy from it comes down a lot because my kitchen table group never wants to play against it. So I spent a lot of money on something that I can use roughly twice a week. :(

It depends on the type of deck. I doesn't feel as good to make a $130 60 card deck compared to a $130 100 (edh) deck. Same thing with showers vs baths. Taking a shower feels really good after you are on a 2 week backpacking trip. But taking a bath and relaxing with a bottle of beer while catching up on tappedout, wins everytime.

As someone who can't afford a car, I have to go with finishing a deck. Though I can't afford to do that very often either. Taking a long hot shower after a day (or more) of binge watching one of my favorite TV series probably wins out though. Good times, good times.

Finishing decks feels good. Buying too many cards hurts.... :(

Finishing a deck (or even getting really close) with cards you aren't allowed to buy for another week beats merely finishing a deck.

All those feelings are great but beating the living crap out of your opponent winning with your new deck is pretty sweet. :3

how dare you make a thread based on my deck title.... That Lovin' Feeling.

personally, my favorite joy in deck-building is finding those little awkward combos, the ones that are very circumstantial, very gimmicky, and very awesome to you/annoying to your opponent when you pull them off. for example, when you retrace Raven's Crime in my deck, it goes on the stack. I can then pop a Relic of Progenitus , eviscerating both our graveyards, while still retaining a copy of Raven's Crime for later use.

OR Remand ing your own stuff effectively Stifle ing a Cryptic Command

My favorite is when you have a deck that has expensive cards in it and it feels so good to pick up that last proxy and finally have a full deck after a year of playing with proxies

I agree, the feeling is simply amazing. And finally getting to play with it, and win with it? Don't get me started.

Oh, coughs, on a completely unrelated note I really should be getting around to teaching my girlfriend magic...

These are the rules of strip magic:

Players cannot lose unless they are naked.

Whenever a player loses five under zero, that player strips one article of clothing.

-Fulcrum says... #19

@MagicalHacker: Is that an upkeep trigger? Or for every 5 below zero the player goes?

October 7, 2014 2:12 a.m.

MagicalHacker says... #20

For every five life of lifeloss You strip, so there's no upkeep trigger.

I don't go by those rulings MagicalHacker. What happens afterwards? Does one just regain the clothes? Imagine playing against an infinite combo deck. You strip all your clothes off just to put them back on.

Here's what I say. Whenever you lose a round of magic, you strip off an set article of clothing (no removing just one sock or one shoe). A round of Magic has a 10 minute time limit and if that timer hits 0 with no clear winner, then the one with the lowest life loses that round. If it is tied, roll a d20 die for the highest roll. The loser is determined by whoever is fully naked first. The winner can either A) take an article of clothing of his or her choice that the loser stripped off (there's your chance to steal my frilly thongs) or B) have the loser "do something" to themselves ~ ♥

I like that too. XD

Here's the thing, how does one go about set up a strip game of magic with about 50% females?

October 7, 2014 2:27 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #23

First, you have to find said females who play magic. Then, find a sexy guy, who also plays magic, that titillates those girls' sexual fantasies. After that, find someway to make the conversation dirty, this is probably the hardest part and would be easier with alcohol. Dirty conversations make girls' think about sex, which is what your goal is, as it makes the girls aroused which in turn would make them more inclined to play strip magic with you. I'm of course just doing a generalization here, because I doubt you are going to find a group of girls who would all be happy to play strip magic from the get-go like I would.

You would have a MUCH easier time with this if you just combined Cards Against Humanity with strip rules with alcohol. CAH is known a lot more to the average person than magic is after all.
