I was just curious, when you summon a demon with Shadowborn Apostle is it summoning sickness?

All creatures suffer summoning sickness upon entering the battlefield, unless the creature card says otherwise. The most typical exception is creatures with Haste.

Rules questions should be asked in the MTG Q&A.

Actually it is really interesting. All permanents suffer from summoning sickness but only creatures are affected. This is important because this means if you play, for example, an artifact or man land and then turn them into a creature they will still have the summoning sickness and cannot attack. But as said above there are exceptions in card text like creatures that have Haste or Suspend.

To clarify what SwiftDeath mentioned about all permanents having SS, Artifacts, lands, and any other non-creature permanents with a tap ability can be used the turn they are played, even though they have summoning sickness, unless the card states otherwise.

They may only not attack if, as mentioned, they are transformed into a creature.

And by "Attack", I meant that they may not tap for any reason unless another object indicates them to.

Sack the Apostles at the end of your opponents turn so that on your turn you can swing with the demon. Also the Apostles ability make for an awesome combat trick, by using them to chump block and then sacking them to their own ability you can nab a demon and you take 0 damage from any blocked creatures that lack trample. This post has me wanting to build an Apostle deck now.

I am trying to build an EDH demon deck with Ob Nixilis, the Fallen as the commander.

If you really want a good Shadowborn Apostle EDH deck, go with Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker . And run Thrumming Stone .

NotSoLuckyLydia I really like that general, he does seem mush better for what I want to do. The artifact is just icing on the cake, ha. I kind of like the idea of a spirit leader for an army of demons. Thanks!
