If this is the wrong place for this kind of post let me know. A few weeks ago I purchased a '2019 Arcane Tempo Challenger Deck' concealed and unopened off Ebay, when it arrived I noticed that the cards were VERY different to my current cards, when i put the two cards side by side, there was a clear difference. The cards I currently had (before this purchase) were purchased after July 7th, and i noticed that somewhere MTG stated that the card material was changing. Would anyone be able to look at these photos and tell me if you can identify the cards as fakes? (i'll link 3 side by side comparisons). Left card = real (my cards) Right card = maybe fake (challenger deck) (https://imgur.com/a/1mSNctn)

You can notice that the right card has bold text - much bigger than my cards. Also the texture of the card is slippery, and the border is a heavy black, rather than a light black tone on all of my cards. Additionally, the cards have a much heavier tone in terms of color, and are also quite reflective.

Here's what I tested: - I tore the card (both had blue center) - Light test (could not tell the difference) - Bend test (the right card kinda failed this test, it felt more like plastic than cardboard)

Hopefully someone can help me! (I just started playing magic

Ive noticed the same things when buying duel decks back in the days. The cards are more glossy and the colors are deeper. I dont think its fake.

Printing quality of MTG cards has always been notoriously inconsistent. As above mentioned, supplemental sets such as Master sets, duel decks, commander decks, etc always feel and look different from normal release sets. I've no clue why this is. If the cards passed the rip test then you are okay my friend.
