Near-Death Experiences

So since there's been a couple threads going around lately about cool wins and all, I thought I'd just pollute the front page a bit more :)

What are games that you've won with exactly 1 life left? For diversity sake, preferably without Near-Death Experience involved.

Here's mine: I'm playing a messed-up version of Kiki Chord-Purphuros Triggers-Eternal Witness Loop- lots of tokens-thing, and I'm up against Eldrazi (which is supposed to be a good matchup, but I'm not seeing it). We're at game three, and I keep a rather slow hand of Eternal Witness, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Pia and Kiran Nalaar, Path to Exile, Stony Silence, and some lands. He's on the play and manages to drop a T3 Reality Smasher and a T4 Oblivion Sower + Wasteland Strangler against my completely open board, at which point I'm not feeling so good. I path the smasher, and on my next turn play the witness to return Path and get the sower. We trade creatures, and I manage to get out Restoration Angel and start swinging away sitting at 2 life. He doesn't get any good draws, but he does have an Eye out, so as soon as he has 7 mana, he fetches Ulamog and I get the feeling I'm done. He casts it, exiling the Angel and a Trostani, Selesnya's Voice I cast the turn before. So I'm facing a 10/10 indestructible with no removal left and a non-creature Purphoros sitting on my side. But next turn I draw a land, fetch down to 1, and play Pia and Kiran Nalaar, Birds of Paradise, block his Ulamog , and play Ghostway, dealing him 14 total with the God. It felt pretty good :) (though he did misplay and didn't search and cast Reality Smasher the turn before, which would have killed me with haste.)

So what are yours?

I was playing Origins draft once with a sweet RB build. It was my Round 1 opponent in Game 3. He was on a RW Renown style deck. The game was pretty back and forth, but I had a fair amount of removal and was able to answer most of his major threats. He still got me down to 1 life with 2 creatures on board. I had cast Priest of the Blood Rite on my most recent turn with Blazing Hellhound on board and one mana open. My opponent was at 6 life, I believe. He overlooked the Hellhound, looking to see me die in my upkeep and ships the turn back. I sac the Priest in response to put him at 5, and I swing with my Demon token to win the game. I went on to win my table.

Quite a number of times playing versions of Esper Dragons I've managed to win from being at one life. The most awesome perhaps was an old build with Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver. It was game 3 of a control mirror at fnm and we were the only ones left playing (obviously). My opponent had managed to resolve Dragonlord Ojutai and had swung in 3 times. I was at 1 due to fetches. I Dig Through Time end of turn, see 5 lands for the first 5 cards and I'm thinking I'm boned. Last two are Ugin, the Spirit Dragon and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver.

My turn, draw Silumgar's Scorn to complement the Dragonlord Silumgar I had in hand. Opponent has 6 lands untapped.

I cast Ugin, not wanting to risk losing D-lord Silumgar to a Hero's Downfall. No response, and I -5 to kill Ojutai. In comes the Downfall, Scorned. I follow up with Ashiok and end up milling him out. Technically I didn't win at 1 life because I managed to ultimate Ugin, but I'm counting it.

I was playing a really weird legacy deck last night and was just sitting there with no cards in hand and 1 Wild Mongrel. The opponent was at 9 life while I'm at 12. He hits me with 2 Dauthi Slayers and I don't really have a chance of outracing him at this point.

so now its my turn and his board is open. Its late game and I have 2 Lake of the Deads out. so I draw a Cruel Bargain, which I cast, going down to 4, drew another, cast it, go down to 2, drew another, went down to 1, then discarded everything and swung for game.

it was an odd game
