Magic turns a bad day around

So today I was having a pretty off day. I won't bore people with the details, but I dec to crack a pack to try and brighten my mood. That worked nicely for me because I ended up pulling an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. However that isn't where the day stopped. I went down to my lgs and traded said Ugin and a bunch of other pricey standard stuff with a couple bulks mixed in for a Gaea's Cradle! Now I'm feeling good so naturally I decided to hit up the casino, and proceeded to win $60.

All this started by opening a pack of cards. Anyone else have some fun stories about how magic turned a day around?

I really don't have many, to be honest. I'm a rather upbeat person normally, and it takes a god awful day to really take me down a peg. But I've had days go from good to better by winning a LONG long match. Those are always fun. I did have a game the other day that looked like it was going to be a Loss till I ultimated a Xenagos, the Reveler into a Hornet Queen, Courser of Kruphix and a Savage Knuckleblade That was fun.

Like the guy above, I just don't have bad days. Even if the events of the day haven't been the best, the next moment is always new. I like to think that the next moment to happen has never happened yet, so even when i'm feeling totally shite (which happens maybe twice a year), there's something to look forward to.

However, I will agree that Magic can turn things around. I've seen people's days get brighter, and even people's lives change because of it.

It's a very powerful thing, this game. I'm happy to see that it's putting some pep in your step too, OP.

Sometimes after a hard day's work it feels good to play some EDH with my friends and that can really turn my day around.

I was having a really bad day and I went to a conspiracy draft, pulled a Mirari's Wake, Exploration, Reflecting Pool and was passed a Stifle, I was happy after that!

I have never had such luck with packs. but I do like a good game of magic to keep my mind away from sad thoughts every now and then. Not that I get sad often, I just mean it helps prevent me from going there in the first place. naturally, I generally feel best when im crushing hopes and dreams with a home brew grixis deck

Not much of a bad day, but things weren't going my way at the FRF pre release. 2 of the 3 friends I would have gone with couldn't make it because they got sick, needed to go to another LGS, didn't have any creatures in the Jeskai colors I picked so I needed to play a suboptimal Abzan deck, only got bulk rares and lost the first match because someone mainboarded the "Sacrifice an enchantment" card while Citadel Siege was the one strong card I had.

But at 1-2, the 4th match I played I won the first game in a blowout way using Channel Harm. My opponent had 5 flyers and 6 life and I only had a 7/7 on the ground. He attacked leaving 1 flyer behind to block, and I played Channel Harm preventing the damage from the alpha strike and killing his only blocker so I could attack for lethal on my turn. I carried the momentum to go 3-2 in the event, and I pulled an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon from one of the prize boosters that also had a foil rare in it. That Channel Harm play turned my day around.

Well, yesterday wasn't too bad of a day, but I came upon a foil Elspeth, Sun's Champion, a foil and a regular Soulfire Grand Master, and a Monastery Mentor.

I told my supervisor he's a moron, he's always bragging he can play magic, how magic is so easy a child can play it, so I pull out my 2 legacy decks and told him "if you can't play this very simple deck you aren't as smart as a child, a child took this deck to a tournament and came top 8" (it was mono red burn) (I was running manaless dredge)

He won the die roll and his first move was "hit me".... So I told him "it's not blackjack now play a card" so he used chain lightning I said "you don't have a land in play you can't pay the cost for that card" he walked away I look at his hand.... 0 lands

Long story show senpai baka desu
