Please link all cards relevant to your question: Chalice of the Void

You can't really actively do a whole lot to "adjust" their CMC. While you can affect casting costs with Trinisphere and Arcane Melee, those cards don't change the CMC of the cards itself.

The only way you'll ever get a different CMC on the stack is for spells with in their cost, as they will have the chosen value for X (plus any other cost) on the stack. So I suppose you could be creative and say if your opponent wants to cast Fireball and you only have creatures with a toughness of 3, they're very likely to cast Fireball with a CMC of 4...

I guess the real answer is no, though - CMC is defined by the card, not by abilities or the like.

Actually, I believe that even the CMC of x cards can't change. I think that their CMC is equal to all the symbols in their cost except for the x, so no, you can't change the CMC of any spell.

BlueScope was correct. When figuring CMC X counts for 0 in all zones except for the stack. On the stack it counts as the value declared for X as the spell was cast.

Outside of maybe some Un-cards, I don't believe that there is any card that changes a card's CMC. Only its casting cost.

The only way to change the CMC of a card is to turn it into a copy of another card with a different mana cost.

MTGO is its own way of playing. Buying cards from MTGO means you will get the online copy and not the physical card.
